Any updates? I'm planning to do some body work soon so a hood would be a good addition to fixing the lines. The front end there seem too subtle and flat once I start going widebody route

how about GTLM look
if you will do something new, must be functional modern, and different from what else is out there. this will keep lines smooth, give best function, and clean looking. |

Hi Jordan, after we spoke last month, I scoured the net for an aftermarket hood, turned up only the Varis hood and the fugly Duraflex hood. I would certainly like to see a hood with some subtle vents that do not project above the top of the hood. Possibly like the E46 M3 GTR style hood or this discontinued hood from China.

Possibly work the vents between the hood lines like the E46?

I think the purpose is to offer the venting for practical reasons not looks.
That's why I would buy one. The alloy OEM hood is plenty light enough. Don't need a CF piece to reduce weight.

It should have two versions, 1. OE ///M style carbon hood for those want the OE look 2. Vented hood for those who track or like the look..

Just out of curiosity,
1. How many will likely buy a OE ///M style carbon hood? 2. Will you paint it the car color or leave it in carbon?

Same... vented but will paint most of it. Maybe leave the vents and underside raw.

I know I'm coming to this late, been eyeing the varis for a while now, I remember seeing a post of where a varis hood on their M with ess and the vents position good for where the blower is, https://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1308190 not as big of a fan of the center slot but the rest of the style I like, I'd leave the carbon finish for me.
