What Verizon phones work for you?
My Treo650 partially paired, but every time it tried to send address book it would reboot itself, and the one time it rang in the car I heard the ring over the sound system and then the phone crashed again! I have to do a software update, but I'm probably just going to use this as an excuse for a new phone. The problem is that the phones on the "officially blessed" list for Verizon are relatively old. The only PDA phone is an out of date Blackberry--and meanwhile Verizon has lots of nice new phones. I called their phone # for compatible phones and the rep said that this is the list of tested phones, and he'd have to wait until a new list came out. There were no specs he could give me to review a list of newer phones & specs to at least predict whether or not one would work.
Anyone using Verizon phones NOT on the approved list with success? Please list them here, especially smart phones! |

Last night I downloaded the most recent update for my Treo software, and was able to get it to pair easily. I've used it a couple of times since and whenever I hang up the phone it reboots itself, and then leaves the phone set to off, so I have to remember to manually turn it back on. The one conversation I had using the Bluetooth was not wonderful; the person on the other end had trouble understanding me (which didn't bother her as she does all the talking anyway). Anyway, it's not worth the effort, so I ordered myself a Razr, which is one of the three recommended by BMW--best part is it was FREE with a Verizon renewal. I'll be interested to see if I can carry on a conversation now--whether it affects my voice quality.

I have three treos (600, 650, 700). While good PDAs, marginally adiquite phones with completely inadiquite Bluetooth! The 650 & 700 did NOT pair with my BMW or Toyota. They would pair with some aftermarket car Bluetooth kits (parrott), and most headsets (like motoroloa & Jawbone), but when they did they always had problems like rebooting! Bluetooth is the weakest point of Treos.
Switch to ATT and get iPhone. Flawless w/ BMW & Toyota.

MY LG VX 8300 works fine, except for the phone book that I can't figure out. It is not a recommended phone, but my car doesn't know it and the phone works just the same.

I had a xv6800 pair perfectly but only with help from the Jetware software. Now I have a Samsung i760 which I am having quite difficulty pairing even with using the Jetware software. It just keeps reading phonebook loading, but never actually does.
