Well turns out i was wrong, i didn't do this back in 2017, i did however finish this upgrade on Monday!

so i have the 3 stage manifold installed, but i have not flashed the ecu.

i was looking in the INPA software and under the VIMDISA menu i was able to test the disa valves. what is interesting is when driving the valves are actuating, and i can feel the power increase in the 5k rpm range. is this normal for a stock 3.0i without the ECU flash?

RSA delete failed on me

RSA delete failed on me, now my car just cranks. I have the bimmergeeks cable with latency set to 1 on COM 1 and the latest version of their standard tools. My laptop has Windows 10 on it.
I have an 07 3.0 and was tempted by the bimmerlabs batch file. I also posted at e90post as there are many there with so much experience in flashing. If anyone can help I'd be very grateful. Thank you.

This is the error that I received.

Being a month old, I'm hopeful you resolved this.

I can assure you the Bimmerlabs files for the 3.0 work.

I never did resolve it. After about a month without the Z4, I attempted to flash the old 3.0 file back on and it worked without issues. I'll try again in the spring for the SI power.

The bimmerlabs files should work. If one prefers, I can also supply a program variant that ignores the hours counter on the DME and allows the powerclass to be changed - that would allow you to flash an unmodified 3.0si tune.

I used Bimmerlabs to flash to the stage 3. One of my disa valves broke so I'm going back to stock. I already put the old manifold on. What files do I use to flash back to original? Also, Bimmerlabs website is down. thanks

Just do an "upgrade" with WinKFP, that should flash it back to the latest version of a stock tune

Bimmerlabs was down for a short period. Hassmachine has it up and running again.

I'll try flashing it in the spring without using the batch file. If that doesn't work, then I'll get back to you. Thanks!

Hello all. I am also wanting to install a stage 3 intake but am not sure exactly what
to look for that will work on my 2007 Z4 3.0i roadster.
Can I buy one off of a 3.0Si Z4 and bolt it right on?
I know I'll need a tune later for full activation and hp gain.

I found the one shown below. It says modifications needed.

Thanks for any help.

I did this about a year ago and am happy with it. Bimmergeeks and Bimmerlabs are pretty awesome. I suggest you download all the software and make sure it works for you, that was my biggest obstacle really. Had my desktop down in the garage because the laptop wouldn't cooperate.

As far as that manifold goes, it seems to pricey, but . . . they says the DISAS are tested and working = BIG PLUS. Those are stupid expensive. It also has that heated PCV hose on the right side, those break easily, are a pain to replace and not cheap either. I would expect its cracked, but if not then it is a valuable piece of insurance in case yours cracks during the process. Some people say to just buy them to have them just in case. There is another one on the under side, but I don't see it in the pictures. It also has the BMW cover.
The mods mentioned are probably just for the small parts change over. My manifold was from an X5 and I had to swap brackets and stuff over, not a big deal.
It may actually be worth the price.

All I will add is that some cars, I think earlier ones like mine, had the oil separator under the manifold and some are above it. There is like a Y shaped PCV hose involved there. i know nothing about that; check under your hood thoroughly before buying and there are fixes for the mismatched hoses thing if you research it.
Familiarize yourself with bimmerlabs if you are going to DIY your ECU flash. or look into Active Autowerk. Turner has a flash tune, but it is DIY, Active Autowerk (AA) uses "delaers", approved shops. There is some level of guarantee in that since a tech will be doing the work for you.

OK I have the (free) Standard Tools software bundle from Bimmergeeks installed and working on my laptop.
Is that what you meant? I doubt there is anyone in my area to do tunes like this.
I called the two I know about and they almost laughed when I said BMW.
I am not mechanically inclined but will work on stuff if I can find a YouTube video of whatever I need done.
I'll have to go look at my X5 and see if it has a 3 stage intake also.

N52 Vs N52 B30?

Hello all. Hope everyone's Friday is going great. Recently I bought an intake manifold from a user here and the tag on it is shown below. Seller said it came off of a 2006 330i. My 2007 3.0i has an N52 but I see some some engines listed as N52 B30 like it shows on the tag.

Are those the same engines?

If not, how do I tell exactly what engine I have in my car?

Thanks

Hello all. Can Active Autowerke flash a 3.0 i DME to a 3.0 Si by mailing it to them?
I purchased a 3 stage intake from a 2006 330i and I want to install on my 2007 Z4 3.0 i to convert it to an Si.
I assume getting the Si software on it "should" up my HP to 255 like the Si came OEM from BMW correct?
Thanks

UK 2.5I

Hi everyone,

I’ve been wanting to do this mod for awhile but I’m a little confused about the tune.

Do I need to select one that is specific for my model of z4? So in this case, flash a tune from a 2.5si? Or is there a way of knowing which will work?

I'm not sure with your engine options in the UK.
From my understanding, this 3.0i to 3.0si flash is for 3.0L N52 motors (2006-2008) that just need to swap the intake manifold.
All I did at bimmerlabs is type in the VIN and then the files for my car were displayed.

I don't know if Hassmachine has posted a Powerclass bypass for the 2.5 liter Z4. Required to run the 215 hp tune that you want.

Your car/upgrade request is pretty rare. Check with him directly. If he's too busy, that's something I could post for you in a few minutes. If Hassmachine does not respond , send me a PM.

Just finished my swap. $150 for 3stage intake manifold, $30 for gaskets, 4 hours total for swap (take lots of before pictures). Drove to Kassel Performance in York PA for the ecu flash. $180 for stock 3.0Si, I went with the stage 3 tune for $359. You can mail in your ecu for the flash. Definitely check them out if you looking for ecu upgrades or custom work.

Wow thats cheap. The place I contacted wants $459 for the tune and $225 for a cable if I do the flashing myself.
What car tune did you use? I dont see an E85/E86 listed anywhere on their site.
