Yeah those bushes are similar, his bring the sub up 10-11mm... or so apperently.
All great points Micheal.. I am not sure as what to comment yet mate, i would like to get my nose on the car first and then get the wheels on and see where we sit. I am not adverse to a little fabrication (i have a great race shop) but obviously the less cutting the better, however i guess ill see whats what when the car actually sits on the ground. Anything before that is pure speculation. I just need the car to sit semi flush and for the rear suspension to be able to operate properly.

These are steel units from MPC Motorsports. I wanted the billit ones, but was advised against it, unless going for a straighht arm. These are steel, so will be heavier duty than the bent billit ones. They will keep me having to notch the frame down by 15mm. which doesnt sound much, but its a lot.

I think you have chosen well, design looks more simple, the VLN ones are tubular steel with rod ends BTW. I suppose the notching of the chassis rail depends on your diff mounting height/ride height, it IS needed on mine for the articulation.
Keep up the good work! |

Thanks Skiddy,
Was great to get home yesterday from BKK. 2 days off and spent today wrestling with the nose/splitter piece. (It's a one piece being wired up for quick disconnect as the car will be so low it will eat any speed bump/bump in the road. Also to get the car on a trailer/flat bed, the nose will need to come off. I figure 5 minutes work to get the nose on or off should qualify as quick disconnect in my book lol. Today's job.. put the nose on... Great success!! |

Looking good Vanne, I bet you are feeling excited, I remember, just, I was!
Quick release front will be a bonus, I wanted to go that route initially, but with all the parts that marry up to the factory nose, arch liners, brake ducts, etc, it was going to mean lots of mods to the carbon panels. Yes it could be done, but thinking ahead for the next owner(s), it was left as standard. So if you can do that, great, as it is a bit tight getting onto the trailer. The down side is that the nose is just massive to carry separately!!! |

No plans as such at this stage mate. Hopefully haven't bitten off more than I can chew already and I wanna get some seat time in before the season closes. As it is, so many changes and upgrades to the chassis, that I have zero idea how this car is gonna Handel when I finally do get it back on the track. Testing hopefully in mid Jan, depending on how my race shop goes with the pending barrage of kits and parts... Gonna be interesting on how that goes and has me slightly worried... Actually has me a LOT worried ..
Need to fab me some brackets today. Last edited by Vanne; 12-05-2019 at 11:04 PM.. |

They're different! Are these going to be mounted near the ARB mounts? The nose mounts directly to my heavily modified, by BMW, ARB mounts. Actually the bearing carrier, the ARB is massive!!!

No, this splitter comes much further back. It's going to mount where the old underside cover used to mount.
Hopefully this pic will help. And quick and dirty sketch.

So today the HVAC was slated for removal.. but as per Murphy's law, let's weld in the cross bar and make it part of the roll cage...
And as you can probably see from the pics, the blower/HVAC box is *behind* the cross bar. DOH!!!! Yep, you might see that the HVAC box isn't supposed to look like that... Detective like eyes might see bits of the HVAC box all over the foot Wels.. lol..
