Tires & Wheels for daily driver & track car
Hey Folks.
I realize there are a ton of threads on this, and I think I have done my research, but want to confirm. I currently have 19" wheels that came with my Z4 M Roadster when I purchased it used. I am reverting to 18" wheels to get better track performance. I am planning on Apex ARC-8 wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. I will be running these tires for a bit with stock suspension, including track outings. I plan to upgrade to coilovers and camber plates in the near future, but am still shopping / budgeting. Here are the tire and wheel sizes I was planning to get: ARC-8 18x9 ET30 with 245/40 ARC-8 18x10 ET25 with 275/35 Will these tires avoid rubbing with stock suspension and the camber pins pulled / shimmed to ~ -2 degrees camber? If they will rub, would a fender roll avoid this? Any other feedback on the wheel and tire size choices? Hoping to pull the trigger on this within the next few days. Thank you Eamonn aka eggman |

I'll second that recommendation. Staggered for show, square for go!
265/35 will give you slightly lower final gearing which will liven up the car. Fight the temptation to go with bigger rear tires. They'll only slow you down unless you change your diff gearing. If rub is an issue, I would even suggest 255/35 square. You might want to also consider Bridgestone RE-71R tires. |

I also prefer the square setup (F5mm&R12mm) and have the same as above with 265s. Falken Azenis 615k+. Rides confidently in pouring rain last weekend to The Ridge. Much more neutral in handling.
The only thing is 9.5" front will limit you to choose linear spring for your coilover down the line, which, IMHO, is the only way to go on the track anyways.

I've gone staggered as above, I needed to order the wheels and tires. Might change to a square setup in the future, thanks for the advice.
