AUX Port On Then Off
I'm in need of some opinions and help. My AUX port is functional when my phone is connected and listening to Pandora IF:
a. Pandora is already playing on the phone, and b. the cable is already plugged into the phone, and c. I plug the cable into the AUX port as the last step. The AUX input isn't recognized if the order of a, b and c is altered. I will lose AUX input if I pause Pandora on the phone. When I touch PLAY on the phone after pausing, the AUX input isn't recognized. I have to unplug the cable at the AUX port and re-insert it. Any thoughts on this weirdness? Thanks, David |

My factory aux turns off whenever my phone is simultaneously charging. Some kind of voltage issue i guess. Hate my oem radio and can’t wait to rip it out, even though it will be a huge hassle rewiring everything I’m sure.

No I haven't but I'll give it a try.
When I first bought the car in January of this year, I noticed this problem and thought it may be the AUX module behind the faceplate. Last week I ordered a new module and have installed it. The problem as described in my original post, still exists and was a waste of $40.00. Last edited by HTM101; 03-06-2018 at 07:20 AM.. |

I'm enjoying the car quite a bit, but yes the OEM radio/AUX is quirky and the audio quality when using the phone via Bluetooth is poor.

Update
I plugged in my Ipod and the AUX mode worked perfectly. After that I searched the issue and discovered its one that's been discussed often over the years, and isn't exclusive to BMWs.
My Samsung phone is the culprit. When the 3.5mm AUX cable is plugged into the phone, the Samsung doesn't sense enough electric resistance, and fails to switch from phone speaker mode to port output. I'll introduce some more resistance and post my result. David Last edited by HTM101; 03-11-2018 at 07:30 AM.. |

Fully Functional Now
I plugged in this device and my Samsung phone is now switching internally to provide continuous and uninterrupted output to the headphone/Aux jack.
https://pac-audio.com/catalog/audio-...cing/sni-1-3-5 This probably would have solved the issue too. https://www.altex.com/35mm-Stereo-Pa...SABEgJBYfD_BwE David |
