new OE Z4M FCABs / LCABs – pre-pressed front control arm bushings for z4 and e46
Pair of new Z4M front control arm bushings (FCABs) already pressed in to good used lollipops. These are the 66mm dia bushings and lollipops for the Z4M (part #31107836862) but folks also use these as an upgrade mod for non-M Z4 and e46 models. They do this because of the firmer rubber bushing design (less voids, not fluid filled) and also because the offset bushing provides additional steering caster angle versus the centered stock units for non-M models. See here for an explanation: http://www.e46fanatics.com/forum/sho....php?t=1062954 http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...ffset+bushings http://www.e46fanatics.com/forum/sho....php?t=1062954 These are ready to slip on to your control arms and bolt on to tighten up your front end handling. No messing around with DIY swearing at improvised bushing pressing or borrowing your friend’s car and asking a machine shop to press out/in the bushings while your car is jacked up. Selling for $119 shipped. Once complete, you send back your old lollipops to me (in good shape). Just for reference, that’s a good bit cheaper than the $160 that online retailers charge for pre-pressed Z4M bushings. If you check these links, I have been doing this popular service on the BMW forums for several years and have 100% feedback. http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=376064 http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...825&highlight= http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/sh...shings-for-e36 . Just replaced my 75,000 fcabs with these. Got mine with two day shipping and a paper with some tips to remove/replace them. I ended up using a hammer and a 2x4 though. That always seems to work for me!

Haven't had a chance to drive it yet. I'm in the middle of installing FA 500 coilovers and SDW rtabs also. There was no indication of cracks, but the rubber seemed a bit softer than the new ones I put in. I might not be able to tell any changes specifically to the fcabs because of the other work I'm doing to it.

I need to replace my FCABs when I do my rod bearings. I've developed some shimmy in my steering wheel, and I'm at 50K+ on my original FCABs. I'll let you know in a couple of weeks. How quickly do we need to return the "cores"?

bump.
just used Rick's service to replace my FCABs, highly reccomended. just unbolt your existing FCABs, bolt on the replacements, and you're good to go. much faster than having to screw around pressing bushings in and out. considering the cost of the replacement bushings alone, this service is nearly free, so its really a no brainer. |
