Help Me Choose New Color for my RE30's
After 7 years of NYC potholes, track day curbing, and few incompetent techs who were too trigger happy with an impact gun, my RE30's are due for a refinish. Luckily wheels have not bent nor cracked but the paint and finish need some work. So what color should I go with? I was set on trying out bronze but now having 2nd thoughts. I love the color but don't think it'll look great on a silver car.
Unfortunately with Photobucket turning into crap haven't been able to dig up any original photos but this was PS request to see how they'd look in bronze. The original color is titanium gunmetal and would look like 2nd and 3rd pic. |

I guess no PS experts here, so I started browsing and posted some examples I found. Might not be exactly your car, but still fun to look at.

Try something completely away from the norm but still a lovable option in the Volk wheels world.

I have a soft spot for Takata Green, had a set of OE Takata TE's in the past, as well as some Takata Green painted CR-Kais. It's definitely a LOUD color though.
In this case, bronze would be a great look. Specifically, I'd recommend a satin bronze like VMR's Frozen Bronze. The way the satin finish reflects the light is really cool, seems to give wheels a bit more visual depth. I kind of wish they had this color when I got my V801's lol. If you're looking for something a little more aggressive/track looking yet still relatively subtle for the street, I think a midnight blue similar to Volk's Mag Blue (not to be mixed up with "F-Zero Blue") would be a great choice on a silver coupe that sees track use. Closest thing on silver car that I saw was mag blue CE's on a silver S2k. May give you an idea of how the color combo looks though.

All are good suggestions so far. In my opinion, +1 on Bronze for a clean look.

I'm looking forward to see which way you end up going! IMO bronze for more of a clean/street look, mag blue for more of a modified/track look. Both would look great on your car so you really can't go wrong. Definitely post up tons of pics once they're on

Takata green?? that is horrible and white looks goofy unless its on a white car since it doesn't stick out. VOLK style bronze all the way or at the most extreme i would say VOLK mag blue.

There's a silver S2000 here locally that has green wheels (a bit brighter green than yours were) for his track day set. He's indicated they were going to be his DD wheels but when he got them mounted up even he realized they were pretty hideous so they got relegated to track duty.

The bronze is pretty cool, but I can't decide if to the casual observer they would just look like they're rusty.

Bronze looks great in pics of the car by itself, but sticks out when your car is sitting next to other cars. I'm a fan of the silver/gray/black wheels, and not so much the louder colors.

I am leaning towards the bronze but all depends on some other exterior mods I'm trying to take care of first
