No. There is the cyclone over the top of turn 5 and the bypass next to turn 5. "Track Day Fun" on YouTube has good vids of both.

I'll have to dig up times but IIRC I'm at about 2.08 bypass and 2.10 cyclone. Dietrich is about 3-4 seconds faster with TCkline well dialed in.

Sorry I'll separate it out... let me know it's organized correctly.

Got out on Sebring with NASA on 4/29 and 4/30 and Daytona full IMSA circuit on 5/5. First time running with NASA so they put me in HPDE1. A little frustrating but also fun running down cars that would have been much faster with experienced drivers. The instructor they assigned me races an E36 and has been out Sebring a lot so got some good tips from him. He was having a good time too egging me on to catch cars so not his typical HPDE1 weekend either. Used Harry's for the first time and had some issue with triggering the GoPro so only had the iPhone video so sorry for it being a bit fuzzy. The bouncy is just Sebring so no apologies for that.
Sebring finished off the EBC Yellows on the front and the Ferodo DS2500s on the rear, plus the left rotor cracked, so for Daytona prep the car got HP+ on all 4 corners and new rotors on the rear. Can likely take a few seconds off the lap time by pushing the braking points deeper but I was being a bit conservative after the rotor issue at Sebring. I was alternating between Harry's and Track Addict at Daytona and just happened to be using Track Addict for this session.

If you're using the GoPro 4 or newer, you have to close the GoPro app after you've turned on the camera. Running that app in the background while using HLT makes the connection unstable.

It was my learning curve with Harry's. I didn't initially realize the app didn't save the video selections so I was missing setting it for dual camera when I was opening it before we wen't out for a session. I like all the added data you get with Harry's but I don't like the difficulty of getting the videos off the phone. Track Addict is much easier to do that but you don't get all the track position specific data.

If you click on video preview it'll let you choose which cameras you want to use and select which to be master vs PiP. The only thing that's not entirely seamless is external video transfer and overlay but it's not too bad with iTunes.

Here's my recent HLT video and I was messing around with PiP.

Got out on the Club Course on Sebring yesterday. Best laps were in the low 1:25s.

Here's the full session if you have nothing better to do for 20 minutes or so. :-)

Third NASA time trial event, unfortunately didn't place this time around. Missed my first session and then spent remaining 3 relearning my braking points since I was running new tires. Hoping to break into 1:34's when I come back in October. Till now will have to focus on Lime Rock in August.

Nice! What diff are you running? I'm looking at the gears you're in and the speeds and you're almost a full gear higher than I am at similar speeds. I know the coupe had a bit higher OEM diff ratio, but I didn't think it was that much more.

Switched to roadster automatic gearing of 3.73, good for street but great for road course since I never use 6th and I'm always in the upper rev range.

Pocono North Course, dry, clockwise
Coupe, Motor (2JZ Swap, turbo ~ 500whp)
Dunlop Direzza starspec2
Best: 1.04:777

Does anyone have any comparable times for this course? Curious to how this is with other Z4s. Apparently 0:57 is a record for a cup car?

I did a 1:11 back in the day. Surface was pretty wet and car was mostly stock:

Got out on the Club Course at Sebring yesterday with SCCA. Best lap was a 1:25.4 which I'm pretty happy with given it was blazing effin hot....

Best lap

Last session full video if anyone's interested

One of the drivers had a friend videoing them from an observation tower and caught me tracking him down. He's in the blue FRS.

Can you refresh me on your setup for this course? (brake setup, tires, sways, springs). You're my gauge on how well I am doing

Also, what was your avg speed and max speed for thunderbolt?

I just wrapped up a 2-day PCA-DE session, had a blast with some great instructors

Very neutral, no over/understeer noted. My logs showed I spent a lot of time coasting and early braking, mainly because of the high speed between corners. Still not 100% confident...

NJMP Thunderbolt, dry, clockwise
Z43.0si Coupe, Motor (2JZ Swap, turbo 570whp)
Dunlop Direzza starspec2 245/275
Stoptech Sport pads all around, stock Z4M front rotor/330i alumn caliper/330i pads
BC BR coilovers, 9kfront/11krear, 23 stiffness setting
Best: 1.39:038 (Had lots of traffic each lap unfortunately)
Max speed: 148mph
Avg speed: 83mph
Highest G: 0.9 (never got above that, very odd seeing your comparison).

1:39 with street tires is respectable for DE especially considering traffic. I didn't crack 1:37 till I got bumped to advanced run group and from there I just experimented different lines and kept pushing the braking limits.

My goal is to crack 1:35 with my current setup:

Stock n52 + headers
TCK D/A's 450f and 550r
255/40-17 NT01 square
PFC 08's on stock brakes
Car weighs 3230 with driver

Regarding the g forces, as you get comfortable with more slip angle you'll see your times drop, and that'll come with seat time. I imagine you're still probably trying to remember each corner and what comes next so you're driving corner by corner instead of looking for that long arc that will take you through the next 2-3 corners.

Btw if you're hitting 148mph on the straights just means you're leaving way too much in the corners. My max speed on Thunder is maybe 125mph lol...

For everyone else I swear I'll get around to updating the front page times. Been getting crushed at work for last few weeks.
