Im thinking of making Wind Screens if people are interested.
Hello, I'm new to this Site. I'm a full time student at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, Ca. I have access to some great tools and a work shop.
Would people be interested if I started making wind deflectors and brackets. *with Quality laser cutting and rasterized designs. I can even make templates for those wanting to cut their own material. I can even add a design etched in the material. Can be a design, brand, or name...etc... Depending on material, time, and shipping costs... I will figure that out soon. If people are really interested, please message me. NOTE* Summer school starts May 14th. I will have access to the shop after that date. Thanks for reading, Abel Last edited by abelgonzaleZ4; 04-28-2016 at 08:01 AM.. |

Hi Abel. People would be interested if your product compared favorably in design, performance and cost to the existing products that exist for the Z4. These come in two categories: Mesh Screen and Lucite. BMW and some other companies produce mesh screen versions and Roadster Solutions seems to be the standout producer of the Lucite version.
To be brutally honest, you're going to have to produce some prototypes and show them installed on a Z4 to raise any interest level from owners I believe. Videos with your product installed at highway speeds as well would be beneficial. |

School starts next Sat(May 14th) I'll will be looking into Materials and laser cutting costs. My schools shop supplies different thicknesses also..Overall idea total. I can even add a design, name in a font etc...laser etched in the material.
This will be a DIY item. I just thought of helping everyone out having a nicely cut windscreen professionally done. Details coming soon |
