Z4M Coupe or Skyline?
Hey guys, so I am deciding on purchasing my next car here and am in a battle between 2. 1 is an E86 M Coupe or a 95 R33 Nissan Skyline 2.5 making 500whp and has been legal in the states for 7 years.
I've always been a BMW fanatic and have owned a few BMWs which have been: 95 318ti, 03 E46 M3, 03 E53 X5 4.6is, and now I currently own an 02 E39 M5 and an 03 E46 ZHP which is going up for sale soon. I want to replace the ZHP for a Z4 M Coupe, but my best friend is selling his Nissan Skyline and I have so much fun every time I have driven it. So my question to you guys who already own Z4's is would you by the M coupe or try something different from BMW and go old buy an R33 Skyline (M Coupe would cost me more)? Thanks for reading and your input. Last edited by ATH_M2; 11-10-2014 at 11:53 AM.. |

Wow, that an interesting choice! I would definitely go with the Skyline if it were me. I've always been drawn to cars that aren't very common, and well, that Skyline would be about the only one the road. My only concern would be about getting parts for the car, but since I know next to nothing about this car, this might not even be a concern?
Honestly, the more I think about it, the less of a choice it is. I'd pretty much go with any early 90s Japanese sports car over what we have today. I'd take a brand new Supra MKIV Turbo over anything else on the road today. |

if it were between the two id get the coupe, but thats just me. ive never been a fan of the r33 is all, and they dont look visaully appealing to me. if you just want a fast car to cruise in why not gt500?

From what I understand the hp on the Skyline is more like 280 hp; is the car you are looking at worked?
In my opinion the Z4MC is a better choice as a sports car, having had a B5 Audi A4 Quattro with 325 RW Hp that is probably more in line with the Skyline on turbo boost. Last edited by Frank851; 11-10-2014 at 12:39 PM.. Reason: removed sedan |

I'm not ultimately looking for a high hp car, its just this one already has everything done to it. I would basically just drive this whenever and most likely throw some Sparcos in it to bring out the interior better.

Interesting choices... Although the Z4M is great, I'd choose the Skyline on just pure awesomeness. Not too often you get a chance to own one, legally I might add

If it was a 34 then I'd go skyline, but on the reliability and even the rarity factor, I'd still go with the M Coupe.
If you're looking to turn heads, I think the M will do more of that, just takes a little bit of grease to get it there. Great two cars for sure. |

Are you looking at this as a DD or just a weekend car or something for fun once in awhile. The M coupe will be a lot less hassle than the skyline. From my understanding, a RHD Skyline can be a cop magnet and you'll be constantly showing cops the binder of paperwork that says the car is street legal.
