Lost another coupe.....
Sad to say that I lost a fight with a rock wall last Friday night. Another car suddenly came into my lane and I reacted immediately. Next thing I saw was that I was committed to an exit ramp that I had no way of executing at 55 mph. Luckily, the wall was angled and the car rode up it as opposed to coming to a dead stop. From the top, it rolled down the side and landed on the roof. I crawled out and walked away. I was taken to the e.r. at Vanderbilt in Nashville. Incredibly, nothing was broken and there were no internal injuries. I had two badly sprained ankles, bruised left pec and lung, mild whiplash and various other scrapes and bruises. I had to stay in the trauma unit until Monday afternoon because of my ankles and breathing difficulty. I'm gonna miss the car and hate to be the one responsible for the further thinning of an already thin herd, but I'm glad I made it through to be able to buy another one soon.

Sorry for your loss. It landed on its roof right? That proves the rigidity of the frame. I remember someone kept posting a pictures of a completely collapsed z4m coupe but this is more accurate as now I really believe that one fell down a mountain.

It looks like my next toy is probably gonna be a E91......Yes, you read that correctly. For once, I'd like to be able to take ALL of my guns on vacations and shoots along with whatever else I might want or need instead of prioritizing and leaving 75% of it behind. Besides, if done right, they're pretty sharp cars. |

SO glad your ok. Rocks like those can open a car right up.
Is there any chance you can get a picture of the roof without debris atop it ? I've got a file of pix showing roof damages/exposures to better explain why my CF roofs are engineered the way they are. |

Dude! Thank goodness you made it out of there relatively unscathed! Sad that the coupe had to go, but after all it was just a car. At least your are back in action which is whats really important.

Anything I can say at this point is repetitive, but I'll say it anyway - sorry about your car. While our Z4s occupy a special place in our hearts, their job is to protect the occupants in a crash. And this one did a darn fine job for you.
I'm happy you are okay and here's my wish that you never experience a crash like this again!
