Hi all.
Just joined this forum, and saw this post from a few years ago. I am a proud owner of a Z4m based in Sydney. Let me know if any of you guys are atill on this forum, wouldn't mind discussing a few issues I have with mine, see if you have the same. Also looking to do some other mods, wouldn't mind seeing if any of you have, especially headers, exhaust etc.. |

I wouldn't bother with headers, since you have the euro headers anyway. Any gains would be minuscule and you'll get much better bang for your buck in other areas. Regarding exhaust, it depends on what you are trying to achieve, but it is always a priority for me on any car purely for the soundtrack. At the moment I am getting the resonators cut out of the xpipe and replaced with straight pipe to give a little extra volume. Much cheaper than a new xpipe, and the last thing I need is more stock parts lying around the garage so it's a no brainer. I'll let you know how that goes and what it ends up costing if you like.

Thanks for the reply.
I have done a few mods to the brakes, suspension, clutch, flywheel, pressure let etc. I use the car to compete in various Tarmac rallies. Brilliant car, just want to make it a little quicker. Going to head down to Wakefield park for the last round of the BMW sprint rounds for the year, see what times i do, do the mods and go back down. Was thinking of clutch stop, cvd, rip scoop and filter, and an exhaust.. Like the sound of your mods actually.. But I have a rally suspension set up, so can't really do too much more there. What engine mounts did you go with, I am looking at them and the gear box mounts as well.. |

I'd love to do tarmac rallies! I should look into that. Who do you do that with?
For engine mounts I went with the VibraTech street version, as I want to keep the car dual purpose. For transmission mounts I went with the UUC black ones (no enforcer caps), same reason. But I see now they have a blue version, and I would have picked them. The black ones clean up the shift into second gear a tiny bit, but not much. However the black ones I have I believe are the earlier version (rubber) and now they are poly. http://store.uucmotorwerks.com/mz4-c754.aspx You have probably seen there is lots of info about transmission mounts in this thread: http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=524589 The clutch stop and CDV are a good idea, but they only make the car ever so slightly more drivable in my opinion. I got the Rogue Engineering clutch stop, but I don't think it is big enough. If I was doing it again, I would research this one (not sure if it fits without issue): http://store.uucmotorwerks.com/clutc...y-v30-p41.aspx If you want quicker, I would skip the scoops, filter and exhaust, and just go straight to supercharging. If that means saving up then so be it, but it's the only thing that will make any discernible difference to power. Everything else is just messing around. Having said that, changing the mufflers makes a big difference to the experience of driving the car of course. I really like having the gated exhaust, but it is expensive and as heavy as stock. If I wanted lots of sound with the biggest weight reduction I would go with the RPI mufflers personally, and leave everything else stock. What flywheel and clutch did you go with? Any feedback on that? I don't know what "rally suspension" is but it sounds awesome. In my head I'm imagining a jacked up AWD Z4 with knobby tires. |

My brother in-law is a mechanic so he does everything for me to the book. I always buy the genuine parts from BMW, except engine oil which is the same and a hell of a lot cheaper on an auto store.

Whilst driving in Pitt St in Sydney last night, spotted a beautiful (silver grey?) Z4 M coupe parked outside Mejico restaurant .. with snazzy "S54" plate ... in sparkling mint condition. Thumbs up!

And noticed that the Z4 M coupe with cool plates: "Z4M" ... which I have seen prancing around Double Bay and up 'the hill' ... is now listed for sale on carsales.

I just spotted a black Z4MC at Heathcote BP checking his tyres, I tried to turn around to go and check it out and say hi but it was too late.
I'm in the market for one if anyone knows of anyone interested in selling |

Wow you are lucky to spot a Z4MC while out and about! Never seen one other than mine in the flesh. Good luck with your search, only 2 high mileage cars for sale right now. There were quite a few nice coupes on the market a year ago. |
