Yep original paint, BMW clear is not known for its thickness but it is really really hard so if you cut it right it shines like crazy.
No matter what, any paint job- factory or otherwise- is not going to look as great with a paint and buff as it will after a good wet-sanding and polish to level the clear... you might consider it, or if you've never done it consider taking it to a high end detail shop and let them get after it.

it's really possible to screw up your paint though, that's my disclaimer... Yep factory, the paint had a hard life from the previous owner but I think it was garaged most of the time, they're almost flawless.
