great loop through Bitter Creek/Ojai

If you have 3-4 hours to spend, this is a great loop.
The stretch between Fraiser park and Bitter Creek Wildlife refuge is just amazingly good.
Lots of twisty mountain stuff that breaks out into sweeping pastures. Very little traffic.

The leg down into Ojai starts out flat & boring but gets super once you get into the hills.
There's a FourBucks (starbucks) in Ojai that makes a good break location. From Ojai I use either the 101 or the 126 back to LA.

The track below is ~150 mi. You won't regret it!

Looks fun. Bummer that it'll take me roughly 2-3 hours just to get to Santa Clarita

I've taken that route several times...unfortunately...it was with my Tacoma truck at the time... it's a fun drive... no one around at all...there are some farm homes in the Frazier park area...it's a blast...but if something goes wrong...hope you get reception...I did see some patrol car from time to time...but none in Ojai...just the tail end in Frazier park... if you want to get away...I highly agree with OP's recommendation.

Also forgot to mention the 126 to 150 route is also very nice drive too...but there's hardly anyone in the Ojai route... just watch out for the sulphur springs area at the beginning area of Ojai if memory serves correct.

Looks like fun. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll have to make a weekend out of it sometime.

If you make a weekend out of it, I recommend dropping into Santa Barbara or Solvang (Dutch-themed tourist town) for a place to stay. Great food, beer and shopping there. You won't regret it!

This is pretty much my (extended) back yard and I've driven all these roads many times in the Z4 (and lots of the rougher side roads and trails in my old 4Runner). Love the Ventura County backcountry.
