Cheap fix for Angel eyes
Recently one of my angel eyes/DRL went out and I was not pleased or surpised to find out it was another proprietary BMW part (63127170858). It is item 15 in the headlamp assy diagram.
Made by hella with heat staked plastic housing traping an otherwise simple to replace bayonet bulb. I found a simple way to remove by simply untwisting the bulb an locating the retaining pins and then using a small drill bit, was able to clearance the housing enough to remove the bulb. Then went to NAPA and they matched it up as NAPA#47835 for around $6. Far cry from the $32 that BMW wants. The hardest part was removing the front bumper to get at the head lamp assy. Sorry no pics. I did not have one available. |

I just did the same thing about a month ago.
You don't need to remove the bumper. Pop clip #6 and remove cover #7 through the hatch in the wheel well. Getting the cover off and back on is like one of those puzzles with the entangled twisted metal bits that you have to turn just right to get them apart/together.
