Black Grille From Bav Auto
Has anyone else purchased and installed this nifty little accessory?
This is the item # GC110 http://www.bavauto.com/shop.asp

It looks like it's just the outer ring, the grille is composed of two pieces the inners and the outer ring. I'd prefer a full grille replacement but that will definitely get the chrome gone.

Looks nice, but I think I'll stick with spray paint for $4.00.

See end of this thread. http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewto...=1252&start=30
I still don't know what I plan on doing. I have to get a replacement for one of them because it wasn't cut right. I'm really irritated with the whole thing. Here are some pictures that I took with the pieces propped up. The first one shows it only on the left.

Hm weird, I didn't know they made it as an overlay rather then a replacement piece. The grill is two pieces right? The grill separates from the chrome ring like I said. So the bav auto piece doesn't have tabs to hook onto your inners? I wouldn't do the epoxy route. The point of buying a replacement piece in black is that it is swappable and "replaceable"

Exactly. I have a bad feeling about it. Do you know of any other sites that make one for the E85?

It was $70 shipped. That's what I thought too. It would be worth it if I didn't have to destroy the oem piece.

I've only found UK retailers that sell full black grill replacements but I haven't bit the bullet to buy them. If you search on google z4 blackout grill you'll see them. For 70$ I would buy a full pair (both pieces) of OEM grills and spray them.

I think that's what i'm going to do. i just went by a local shop and they sent me to a site http://www.bimmerdiy.com that has instructions on how to. Now I just have to get on the phone with bav to get my moolah back.
How are those reflectors coming BTW?
