I got my first (!) today. Not sure if it was cuz I hadn't put air in the tires cuz I bought it or cuz the roads here are worse than they were in SC. Either way, I whipped out the mobility kit and juiced em back up. All is well

I had to take my car into the dealership again this morning. I went into the garage started the car up and my pesky ( ! ) was on again. They checked the air pressure, put it on the rack, ran a test on it, put the tires in water - and NOTHING! They believe it may be a faulty sensor, so they reset it and told me if it comes back on to bring it in and leave it with them so they can replace the sensor.

They did say these sensors are extremely sensitive. It not only measures pressure, but also rotation. They been very nice, but it's been frustrating - especially since I've only had the car two weeks.

They aren't that sensitive...all 4 of my tires were 4-6 psi below recommended inflation pressure. So either they were underinflated from the beginning and system was set at the wrong pressure or they aren't too sensitive. Either way, I think it was a good experiment to see how low the pressure in my tires get before the (!) light comes on.

Our local Costco in Boise has Nitrogen. The sign says better performance, balance, and makes your tires last longer. Is this true?

According to http://www.getnitrogen.org/why/index.php
Nitrogen is all around us. When used to replace oxygen and other gases in tire inflation, it enhances handling, improves fuel efficiency, extends tire life, protects the Earth and, most importantly, keeps you safer on the road. you can read the rest here.... http://www.getnitrogen.org/why/index.php |

our z4's use the abs system to note differences in each individual tires' rotational speed. if pressure drops, rpms increase in relation to the properly inflated tire. there is no ability in our z4's system to actually measure tire pressure. i believe systems that do measure pressure require monitoring equipment in each wheel, which makes swapping wheels a breeze.
