FS: Matte Black Kidney Grills
I purchased an extra set of M kidney grills from Shakib and I applied 4 coats of Plastidip to the outer ring essentially making the entire grill matte black. Was going to use these to replace my current set but decided to get my bumper resprayed and the shop said they'd do the grills as well so I have no use for this extra set. Asking $50 shipped to anywhere in 48 states, $45 picked up. Check my iTrader feedback! Took 2 pictures, one with flash, one without so you can see how it looks under both lighting conditions. Ha you of all people should know the wonders of Plastidip. Actually, I was contemplating whether or not to even post these seeing how my paint matched grills turned out the first time (eventual chipping). I'm hoping this new body shop can do a better job and make it last longer. I think the key is spray additional clear coats.

Not an enthusiast shop (but maybe that's the trick). Some local body shop in Ft Lee. I'm dropping off the car in 2 weeks but I'll let you know how it turns out...

are they taking the bumper off, paint and put back on? or are they going to paint it while still installed and blend it in with surrounding panels?

perfect. since that's what I wanted to do and I was afraid shops can't get the color right since we have metallic paint.

Honestly, blending is the right way to go, but this isn't a garage queen and I've already baked in the notion that it'll need a respray within a few years again. If I did it right, I'd take it to a shop like MAC, and then apply a custom clear bra but $2000 is too much for a front bumper.

when i had my front aero cover done for the 3.0si, i took the car to the shop i wanted to have paint the cover and had them color match it. i then brought the bumper to them the next day... when i got it back the color was exact. no blending needed.
any good body shop with the ability to spec not only the correct paint code (apparently this is a concept that not all painters can figure out), but also individual paint lot differences, should be able to provide this same service.
