Loosen the lug nuts Jack up and put car on 4 jack stands Remove all 4 wheels Clean caliper and surrounding area with brake clean and brush(supplied in kit, You may want to buy another can as well) For the best results compress the caliper with a big c-clamp or other method, doing one caliper at a time. Remove the 2 caliper bolts that attach the caliper to the bracket on the knuckle (I think 7mm allen head) Remove caliper and remove the brake pads Use a coat hanger to attach the caliper to the coil spring temporarily Remove the caliper bracket from the knuckle ( I think 15mm 6 point socket) Clean the bracket and caliper again with more brake clean and brush I also soaked a face cloth with brake clean and whipped them down You will also notice on the bracket where the pads rest there may be dimples, I took a flat file and smoothed them out (better to do it know than later) Once the bracket is clean reinstall it to the knuckle (do not tighten the bolts all the way, snug is fine. Reinstall the caliper WITHOUT the brake pads and just snug the allen head bolts for now. Now do the same procedure for the other three calipers. BE CAREFUL When compressing the other calipers GO SLOWLY as you do not want to push the pistons out of the other caliper as you do not have the brake pads in them and you do not want to have the brake fluid to leak out of the master cylinder. If you collapse the pistons slowly you will have no problems Now that you have all the calipers mounted back on the brackets without the brake pads, unlock the steering column as you will want to turn the wheel to make it easier to paint the front calipers. Mix the paint according to the instructions Apply one coat of paint to the caliper and bracket (paint as much as is to your liking) using an acid brush (this works better than the foam brush that now comes with the kit) DO NOT Paint the pads (where you filed down) that the brake pads rest and slide on When done the first coat on one, do the next caliper and so on, when all 4 have one coat, go back to the one you started with and apply the second coat, then on to the next applying 4 coats in all on all 4 calipers and brackets this will take 4 hours just to paint (15min per caliper/bracket) Let dry over night Now clean the brake pads and retainer clips, Make sure you put the pads back where they came off of when you go to reinstall them. I like to paint the back of the pad and the retainer black (I use Krylon Spray Paint for this) Next day, Remove one caliper at a time, removing the 7mm allen bolts, be careful of your paint job. Rest the caliper on something or hang it on the spring again to hold the caliper out of the way for a moment. Remove the caliper bracket from the knuckle, 15mm bolts and set aside This is optional, I like to paint the hub of the rotor so now is a good time to do it, I use titanium paint from the Eastwood Company, it dries fast and looks good. you can whip off any paint that gets on the rotor with brake clean on a rag or cut a hole in some cardboard to go over the hub to reduce the over spray. Now back to the bracket, apply brake grease to the pads that the brake pads rest and slide on. Reinstall the bracket to the knuckle and torque the 15mm bolts to spec. Clean the two 7mm allen bolts with steel wool or some fine sand paper or emery cloth. If they are pitted or rusted replace them. as this is what the caliper slides on. I put a little bit of brake grease on these when I install them (although the manual says not to) I have never had any problems. Put brake grease on the brake pads where they rub on the bracket and caliper Reinstall the brake pads into the caliper and remount the caliper to the bracket, torque the 7mm bolts to spec. Do not attach the retaining clip yet to the caliper. Now reassemble the other remaining calipers in the same way. When they are all assembled except for the retaining clip, start the car and pump up the brakes. If you do not do this the calipers will slide when you go to attach the retaining clip and may scratch your paint job. Now install the retaining clip, there is a trick to this so you do not scratch your paint job. place the retainer so the curved ends are resting on the bracket, push straight up with your thumbs on the flat part of the retainer and the clip will pop into the holes on the front of the caliper and you are done. Install wheels, take car off jack stands and torque lug nuts to spec. |

Looks great. Not sure about the mud flaps. I'd have to live with them awhile. But the rest is very nice. Of corse it is the perfect color.
