I put 11K miles on the last set of tires. Now that sounds really bad, but I also had 20 track days also mixed in....

I'm lowered on H&R springs, and my rear camber is -2.5*. Can I get it dialed back to -1*, or do I need to buy something?
I'm trying to increase straightline traction in the rear

Could anyone give me some alignment specs for my M coupe that would be good for performance and daily driving. Something to add a little bite but not wear out the tires fast

Front: -1.5 camber - toe in .02 Rear: -1.9 camber - toe in .2 My wife ran this setup for 10K miles with pretty even tread wear on the street, YMMD. We moved the front to -2.0 and zero toe once she started hitting the track. After 4 track days and 12K miles on the Star Specs wear is still pretty even. I'm running the same setup street, but don't have enough miles accrued to discuss how wear has been on my setup. If you don't mind a bit more nervousness in front you can always run zero toe to reduce wear. But the settings above aren't a bad place to start. Be aware you're going to need the Turner camber washer kit (or similar, or plates) to get that much in front. Stock settings usually max out around -1.0 to -1.2. zero toe is more "nervous" but oh so fun and responsive
Finnegan, can I run -1* rear camber on stock components other than HR springs?

I don't know how you'd get to that little negative in the rear especially lowered. IIRC, min I've seen was -1.5 degrees, and I don't recall who that was. I'm guessing you want to reduce the negative camber in the rear to put down that power more effectively? The answer usually is to go with some kind of very adjustable rear camber arms. Anile9 installed these (which was a PITA he said). Turner says you can dial out negative camber with these on lowered cars. Might want to give Turner a call and see if this will get you where you want to be (otherwise I'd skip the PITA install). |

Thanks I will use those specs when I get my alignment after installing my coilovers. I think its pretty cool that your wife drives a Z4M AND tracks it. My girlfriend likes car but definitely would never track

thx for the tip. I'm hoping the wider and stickier than stock RE-11s will negate the loss in rear cornering traction vs aggressive negative camber out back

if you dont have the RE-11's yet you are going to love them. Best tires I have ever had. So expensive though

I have them, just not using them to their full potential with my current rear camber settings
