Few question for the muffler delete
1) is it consider loud? Compare to those rpi or the RE diablo 2) is there any drone? 3) lose torque? Low end pressure? Thanks! |

Buy the car back from the insurance company if it gets totaled, then make IT your dedicated track car. Hybrid optional. |

They are loud but not by much compared to the RPI, besides I made them bolton so that you can choose which between weekends and weekdays IT takes me about 30 min to swap them now. I see that your local to me...let's do 130 installed or 100 picked up

How has that intake elbow been working for you? You just stuck a breather filter on the end of the factory vacuum line, right?

Yup, exacty. Definitely helped smooth out the top end. I really felt it at the top of fourth, where it felt beneficial to hold to 8k vs shifting at redline

Sold my car last night and I picked up my new ride. It's going to be missed! On a side note, I got 25500 from Carmax!! I would have had a hard time selling it private party at that price in this economy.

the mustang boss is a great car...lots of power. but i drove it and a zo6 and they dont come close to the z4m in terms of handling and response. only word i can describe is sloppy. lots of straight line power though, and a beautiful v8 note. are you planning on modifying it at all?

Where did you test drive yours? Most dealers won't even let you sit in one as they marked them up 5-20k At first, it felt sloppy for me as well. But that's bc I was driving it like it was a z4m. Now, sloppy is the furthest thing from my mind. On exits, you can get on throttle so much earlier, and there is so much more grip in the turns, and the chassis gives you so much more confidence over the twitchy(response) e85/6 platform. They are completely different experiences, but I definitely enjoy this one much more And i never thought I'd be in a mustang either....so far I've went from a 997->z4m->mustang Definitely looks like I've been degenerative in my car choices, but I reassure you that each has been an upgrade I've noticed with the american cars that I've driven(c5 z06, 08 z06, boss)They tend to drive much smaller once you start pushing them. I've hit up my favorite canyon about 8 times now in the past 2 days, and I can't believe the capabilities of this car...I must have hit this canyon up at least 50 times with my z4m and I'm already much more confident than I've ever felt. We'll see once I hit up streets of willow in Nov As for mods, you do know that the suspension has settings right? and they are left at 2/5 from the factory for the avg American consumer. CCW 's are the only thing I see in the near future. But seeing how it's so well dialed in, I don't want to mess with it

Already have a few stories.....here's one I'm stopped at a intersection, which leads into a single lane canyon for about 8 miles, and a Porsche panamera turbo pulls on the side of me. I had 2 buddies in my car and he had his wife and teenage son in his. I give him a thumbs up and they gave us a bye bye wave Light goes green and we both get on it...pretty neck and neck until I hit third and do a slow walk just in time for my lane to close in! That was intense and unexpected from a family man He definitely looked stumped when I was passing him.

Yeah most are getting low 12 in the high teens in the panamera and boss are getting the same with a 117 trap. Pretty much a drivers race. Lowest et in a stock boss is 11.5 @ 117 with tires of course. But it was a roll race which gave me the edge

Awesome, I didn't realize they were THAT quick. Upper teens for a $40k car is pretty damn impressive.
Do you still have the ZHP shift knob, or did you sell that off?

So, which BOSS is this? The 302 Laguna Seca? (Didn't know it was available yet.) IIRC, the Laguna Seca model is 444 HP, 7,500 RPM redline, adjustable suspension, and a "two key" system with a red key for "off road use" or something like that. If that's the one you have, yes, I'd agree, it's an upgrade. The engine alone is a major achievement. I'll be interested to see your impressions after hitting the track. I think Ford has suggested settings for the suspension for most tracks in the US too. |
