Beedub, I think this probably applies to your peak recall too...the real test is knowing what boost the motor is running at with the throttles still fully open, just before the shift which causes immediate pressure fluctuations in the BPV. |

Like I said, normally, I get 8 to 9psi. This is from a small spike from revving slightly past 8000rpm. I will get video

http://www.tillett.co.uk/car-racing-seat.asp I can't tell if the 470hp viper is faster or not, because it had about 500lb feet of torque. Some time at the track will tell. Its much easier to hit all the shifts perfectly with the z4m, and you feel much more in control of the car. After 6000rpm, I'd say the z4m FEELS faster and probably moves faster too. The overall power delivery is just a perfect balance with this kit. Low rpms are great for putting around town quietly, or in the rain, mid range has nice torque to get things moving, and up top its just a snarling beast. Top of 3rd gear is pretty intimidating since you're accelerating very fast into tripple digits

now.... do you get what i meant when i said the kit is perfectly in keeping with the stock powerband and ///M mantra of high rev power?? the big centri basically keeps the stock curve and moves it higher, so much fun and i agree 3rd is jail just waiting to happen. it feels like we swapped out the motor for a high rev V8........ infact this is my first s/c car after a long line of turbo cars and im utterly convinced by supercharging, the power delivery is perfection and sooo much more controllable,..... my rear tyes are taking a serious beating right now!! lol honestly..... right now, i simply cant think of another car that i would rather own that wouldnt bankrupt me to buy... the kit has not only transformed my car but also my ownership experience. so whats next for your car and any videos???

...not to mention the throttle response is even better than stock.
Next is fixing my idle (biggest mystery), adjusting the airbox so its not angled up so high, and probably fresh header gaskets. Then we'll see what my budget allows, but definitely nothing big. I'd love to install the meth kit thats in my garage, but from what I read I'll lose power up top without tuning, which I'm not ready for

i dont see any spikes on boost when driving, just a clean clear sweep of the gauge, when i bang the limiter, thats when i see the spike offs like you talk about....... which is one thing is ALWAYS noted (look back and see;-)) its veryeasy to see when it does that as it swings wildly as you pop the limiter, im talking about a clean NON redline run.... and every single time is see 8psi on those runs....... tom will see even more due to the raised rev limit either way im hitting 7psi WELL before redline.........

Can you post more about how you are going to mount your gauges? Doesn't beedub's setup require removing the cig/power port?
How many miles did you have on the car when the plugs were changed? I wonder if my car would benefit too. |

I placed an order on the 3d Design Gauge Pod, same as Byron's. I'll have to move the cig port, which I'm not looking forward to. Right now I temporarily took out the coin/ash tray, and fit my boost gauge there. No point in mounting it anywhere else temporarily, I didn't want to do the wiring twice
Car has 39k miles. Keep in mind I had 2 or 3 weeks of oxygen sensor issues. Old plugs had white stained tips, which means I was running lean, which doesn't make too much sense but thats usually the diagnosis. You have nothing to lose by replacing your spark plugs, they're $80 shipped on ebay. You're not going to get more boost, but why leave any potential power on the table?

Beedub, if you've discussed where you relocated your cig lighter/power port, could you link us to it? |

toms got booooosssstttt!!!!!
tom i simply refuse to believe your hankooks can live with the vt2 at this boost...... tell me the truth... do you feel like the grim reeper is sat on your shoulder everytime you drive???? i wish we could lean out the tune alittle and run meth/water injection, thats an easy 40rwhp......... have you got an aftermarket exhaust on your car?? when you do, you will simply be shocked at how the exhaust "note" changes with boost.... its really changed the noise my car makes, Cfrine88 also noted a louder and different note to the exhaust, i suppose its got air beign forced in, it will change the tone somewhat.

I think with a handheld tuner, and an a/f ratio chart, ess theoretically SHOULD be able to tune this car for meth from a remote location. It may take a few runs though I only have the cat-less euro headers, and the rest of the exhaust is stock. I'm 99% sure the secondary cats on the US cars are less restrictive than the EURO cars because they're shorter inside. Even with this setup, I can get the car to burp and pop when I poke the gas pedal, I even get very slight drone if I'm in the wrong gear. Because of this, and that I drive 12k+ miles a year, sometimes with clients, I don't want to make the car any louder. The only thing I don't like is the weight of the rear mufflers. I like the sleeper look from the back though, and overall the car is fairly quiet on partial throttle

the handheld tuner allows data logging which mean ess can 100% tune remotely..........
problem is they wont tune for meth at all.... and i mean at all........ you need a seriously skilled person to tune the z4m dme on alpha n management..... ess know that and simply were stuck..... get someone else to do it and we have no warranty at all...... not something i can risk. but yes i agree on the really cool morning this thing really rips!!! throttle response is razor sharp........ this would make such an awesome track car properly prepped with this engine and blower.

I HAD made some videos with my gopro before, but this was when the car was a bit lower on power and would go to limp mode most of the time. I deleted those
I'll make some fresh ones
