Step by Step Oil and Filter Change..........
I own a 2007 Z4 3.0i Roadster and have looked everywhere trying to find some clear information on how to change the oil and filter on this car. Can someone help me find where this information is or help me with a step by step DIY procedure. Thanks, Mike.

N52 Engine, right?
Here's a DIY video. Others: Written DIY 1 or written DIY 2. Plenty here on the forum if you need help with jacking up the car, etc. |

Full synthetic 0w30, 5w30, 0w40 or 5w40 oil is fine from any manufacturer if you change more frequently than BMW recommends (such as twice as often). If you keep close to BMW's change interval, then use only LL01 oils; in North America, the only readily available oils that meet this spec are BMW 5w30, Castrol Syntec/Edge 0w30 and Mobil 1 0w40.

Amsoil also meets the LL01 spec.

With the engine fully warm while driving press the small rectangular button between the tach and speed that has a tiny clock symbol. It's next to the s/r button for the odometer. You will get a display on the odometer showing a level graphic and saying "oil OK". This digital dipstick isn't very accurate so never add oil unless it's half low. I usually check mine while driving on the level but up and down hills read the same
