Hello from new Z4MC owner in Seattle
Ok, so ignore my UserID...I was previously looking into getting an E92 335 last summer but decided that I was quite happy with my 01 330Ci and had absolutely no reason to buy a new car.
Then quite recently, my girlfriend and I were looking to get her a Z3MC and that got my car-buying fever near boiling point again. I missed out on a great deal for her where the car was already in Vancouver BC where she lives and was so gutted that I ended up buying this car as I didn't want to miss out on a second great deal. So here he/she is (pics stolen from the dealer's original ad). I can't decide whether he's a he or she's a she. I've only had the opportunity to drive a little bit since getting her/him but am so much in love already! |

WELCOME to the NW COUPE GROUPE

Your first modification should be the driver and the second is remove the CDV. If you're interested in doing HPDS events you can run with the Porsche or the Alfa Club as well as the local BMW Club. You can also do their low speed Car Control Clinic. Send me an email at jsmillet at gmail.com and I'll send you a detailed tool list specific to your E86 Z4MC as well as a list of torque specs. BTW the most informative forum is Bimmerfest; visit the Z4 FAQ page first. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=7 The BMW CCA Puget Sound Region BB is also a good source for local information: http://bmwpugetsound.com/vbb/index.php http://www.zpost.com/forums/showpost...6&postcount=12

Welcome! Very nice, love the red/white combo!
That's a warm welcome from jmillet as well--I'm in agreement 100% about modding the driver--been doing that myself and it's amazing how much better the car performs with the driver mods I've added. You can always ask one of the mods to change your user name to one that no one else has claimed (check the member's list to see if the one you want is taken). Beta, who used to be Fighting Fish, did just that in the past couple months. Last edited by Finnegan; 05-02-2011 at 06:10 PM.. |

- Welcome to M coupe ownership. You found a beautiful one for sure -Take it from me, mod the driver first. It is very easy to build the car beyond your skill level. -Fix that user name Just have to say it again, AWESOME color combo inside and out

Thanks all for the warm welcomes.
I'm most definitely very happy with the colour combo. I wasn't sure with the red to start with but there's just the right amount to make it not too loud or obnoxious. WRT to mod'ing the driver, I was looking into the Car Control Clinic for last Thursday but ended up being down in Cali for work so couldn't make it! :-( Will definitely look into when the next one is. Since the warranty is good until Nov of this year and about 39k miles on the car, what do you guys recommend in terms of getting stuff done whilst the warranty is still valid? |

The Z4M has been a relatively trouble-free machine with no recalls and only a few Service Information Bulletins issued with the motor mount bracket bolts being the most serious. Have a local dealer do a VIN check to see what services have been performed. The BMW Service Maintenance Checklist tells you what items should have been performed. 2007 Z4 Service Maintenance Checklist.pdf At your mileage the Inspection I valve check/adjustment is critically important; make sure it was accomplished. Read the Bimmerfest Z4 FAQ and you'll find the answer to most of your questions: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=130986

Mind posting what the final price was from that dealer? I was bent on fully loaded alpine white and preferred red int but could live with black - I ended up with black interior. As mine is almost the exact same mileage yours is now, I'm curious how much that set you back.
Feel free to pm if you'd rather not make it public. I understand..
