fuel line/filter location?? z4m
Hey guys,
just started an install for a 75 shot wet nitrous kit and am having trouble finding the fuel filter...according to the e46 m3 forums it's under driver seat(under the chassis) but not on ours... I'm taking pictures of the install to make it as easy as possible for other z4 members to embark on this install, but I'm stuck on this????!!! please help thanks guys

Look for it in realoem.com. It's a great source for looking up parts/part #'s.

hey thanks,
that was very insightful.. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...41&hg=16&fg=15 according to the site our filter is built into the tank with the pump unlike the e46 m3... http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...84&hg=16&fg=15 looks like i'll be tapping in the engine bay near the fuel rail instead...the only part of the feed line with rubber thanks again !!

Awesome cant wait to see what times you pull with the no2.
Im just taking an educated guess here, but i think our engines would be able to take probably up to 150 shot safely. Did you get window switches and all the other safety gear?

I have the window switch for safety and that's about it, but I'm running the zex wet kit which has the WOT switch that actually runs off the tps. Looking to just run a 75 shot to get rid of my neighbors pesky m6 and hopefully run a low 12 over 115 is my goal.
My research shows that our motors can actually run upto 250shot but with a state of the art direct port system...on a single fogger it seems 100 shot is safe b/c of our intake manifold design...and 150 shot on any old direct port system....IRON BLOCKS just got finished with the fuel tap and am moving on to cutting some wood for my bottle rack and then just programming my WOT and I'm finished!! look for a write up soon

I should have my car up tomorrow for track de prepping and a caliper rebuild I'll look, but I'm pretty sure it's the same place the e46 one is, the shield is there and everything.

did you find the filter? I was under there for a while and the only part of the line that was rubber was the line under the intake manifold. It looks to be an inline filter in the tank...

fuel pump AND filter are in the tank.
fuel pump sits inside, fuel filter IS the white cap that is on the bottom of the tank. you'll have to tap into the fuel line at the rail to get a wet shot working on this car. |

So to revive a dead thread with a question; do you have to drain the tank and remove the fuel pump in order to replace the fuel filter? How often should the fuel filter be replaced? I'm not a big fan of BMW's nothing until 100,000 miles plan.
