BMW Aux turning off
Hi,
I have a tunai firefly I want to use for bt music. The firefly connects but after 5 seconds of playing a song it turns off the aux and switches to FM radio. I tried different USB adapters but the same issue happens. I have the OEM aux next to the cigarette port. 04' Z4 3.0i 6MT. Any diagnosis? The firefly runs awesome in my Mazda 3 with no issues and using the same USB adapters also. |

Could be a ground loop fault problem. Had this problem with an Satellite receiver powered thru the cig lighter, audio into the aux plug. I gave up trying to solve and just use my iphone satellite radio app into aux.

Ground Loop Interrupter
Install a ground loop interrupter into the aux line. You can pick one up on-line for less than $20. I've had 2 Z4's over the years. I installed an AUX input into the first one and it ran with no problems. For the second car, I did an identical installation and had the problem you described with the AUX defaulting back to radio. The ground loop interrupter cured the problem.
