$450 For Spring Install???
I have some H&R springs coming in today so I called a local BMW tuner shop for quote on install. They tell me $450.
Am I missing something? Don't I remember reading posts of DIY and only taking 2-3 hours? |

They're probably charging you book time, which could be 4.5 hours. So if they do it in 2-3 hours they are still charging 4.5 hours. At a 100 dollars an hour, which most shops charge, I can see how it's $450.

lol, that's ridiculous. good shop can do springs in 2 hours. if you're going to do shocks, then wait to do everything together so you don't pay for double labor.

Go to a place like Midas or whatever. They are usually everybit as qualified for simple works such as this, as would these tuner shops, which are VERY hit and miss I find.
They also have the reputation of the franchise at stake, so if your not happy, and voice your concern, a franchise operations management will adhere to looking after you much more then would half of these small mom & pop type operations. |
