iphone 3G address book issues
Hey all - I tried searching and found nothing....
I have a '06 Z4M Coupe with BMW Assist, GPS, Bluetooth etc. Just got an iphone 3G and the phone does sync but the contact list does not. Have latest software on the phone (2.0.1). Anybody else having issues?? |

I don't have satnav, but my contact list still syncs just fine.
I know that you might have to leave the connection on for a while (up to 25 minutes) for a complete sync. |

No dice man! Tried getting the contact list for 60 minutes and then gave up. The phone pairs. What I have done is use BMW Voice commands and dial number that way. I do not get the contact list.

All is well with me, thanks for asking! Got another inexpensive mod on the horizon...
Anyway, that's odd... I wonder if you should unpair and then re-pair it to the car? Originally it took about 15 minutes for my old phone to sync up to the car, but the new iPhone 3G took only about 2 minutes for me. It's pretty much instantaneous now when I turn on my bluetooth. Good Luck with it, man. |

The contact list has only 46 people on it. I solved the problem by returing the iPhone 3G. It was a great machine but not the best phone. The ringer is not loud enough, the bluetooth did not work for me and the batter life is HORRID! I would have to charge it at least daily and thebattery is good for 400 charges according to the literature. That means that the phone would have to go to apple yearly for a battery change. Bottom line - love the iPhone 3G and all the things it does but between the battery, bluetooth, and low ringer I found it to be a leap backwards in the phone department. I am back to using my Sony Ericsson. I drove from London to Toronto and back with everything in between with no real change in battery status. Then phone was on with bluetooth and I made at least 20 calls and the battery is still 95% charged.... Phone was on for 10 hours - was paired for 5 hours with my car. |

Can't go wrong with SE... I had one of their phones before the iPhone. No problems syncing that one either.
