Oil shelf life
My most recent oil change was with castrol "supercar" 10w60. Ive located some liquid unobtanium- castrol TWS 10w60. This stuff could be 5 years old by now. Further research has brought up a point about oil having a shelf life of 5 years. I though it was good forever if not opened. Im thinking Ill pass and use some fresh Motul 8100 10w60 instead. Any thoughts guys?

I'm wondering about this as well. A co-worker of mine used to own a shop and had a bunch of leftover 10W60 oil that he gave to me free of charge - based on the bottle design I imagine it's around a decade old, but still sealed.
I have 7L of this and wondering if it's safe to use...

Those containers look prehistoric- Ive read every blog and still dont know if its safe to use. Its probably ok. Im erring on the side of caution about buying old stock but u can probably use it.
