Very nice job on the roof! CF over white really stands out. Having a darker roof also appears to make your car look shorter and lower since it blends away with the windsheld and rear window.
Now for an ACS rear CF diffuser to top it off

all i have to say is that is simply amazing to look at!!! and that it can be done yourself is great news, cant wait to see the finished product with the headliner and everything back in...

+1 for me. Anyone know if the CF on it is cosmetic or only structural?

almost certain is structural, saw a thread on bimmerfest, but you were probably posting in those threads anyway haha, its a HUGE piece of carbon..... had to actually cut away part of the bumped in the back to place it in its spot if i remember correctly...
it looked like a real nice piece even off the car, i will try to find it for you

Seems a shame to cover it up, although I like the way ROM3N blended the tip cutouts into the bodywork/paint. Are those tip cutouts cosmetic-quality carbon like the diffusor?

I've been avoiding this thread as Dammmitt keeps pestering me (rightly so!) for the weight of my original roof piece, and I'm still too lazy to have got around to finding some scales to weigh it.. lol
But now someone has already done that job for me, I'll post here again Thanks for the comments guys I do have the ACS diffuser on my shopping list, but I've got a few higher priorities first to deal with - mostly the brakes, as they just don't cut it on the track. Not sure which way to go at the moment. I have a day at Spa-Francorchamps (Belgian GP Circuit) in October. I might try a set of Pagid RS29 pads, and change the fluid for DOT 5.1 stuff first. If that doesn't do the job, then it's deciding on a big brake kit. Probably go for an AP Racing setup, as the CSL boys all give them the thumbs up. If I stumble across enough cash though, I'm tempted to go for some Carbon Ceramics that I found... but not 100% sure about that yet!

yea if i were to get the ac diffusor, which i wouldnt on this car, bc black i feel like its kinda wasted bc it cant be seen, but IF i got it on any other color car, i for one would not paint it as i feel the look of carbon is part of the effect, i surely wouldnt get it for weight or the look painted, it looks WAY hotter in the natural form

The diffuser is CF it is not just a cheap overlay and it is done in a very nice weave. I think the CF would look awsome on a black car but on white it was too much contrast for me. |

I was looking at the diffusor in more detail tonight and one thing stood out as a possible problem for me. Namely, there is NO venting for the diff with the ACS diffusor like there is with the stock one. If you don't track much that may or may not be a problem, but in my case I would probably cook the diff quickly. ROM3N, your thoughts/experiences? |

Sixspeed, if I was still in Europe I'd love to do the track days at places like spa and nurburgring...
I don't think get the whole ACS diffuser...if I could get a carbon replacment for the stock diffuser, i think it would look sick. Oh well...I'm sure someone out there could do it if I had the money...

i'm still not convinced that the ACS diffuser actually adds more downforce than what we already have.

I don't think it is supposed to add downforce, I think it's supposed to help reduce drag from air trapped under the car.

it's the only way it sticks to the road so well at such high speeds. very much like a Ferrari, the top of the car is shaped to reduce drag and the underside is equipped with downforce (air rails) equipment to pull it down. very effective.
