A friend of mine has one and really likes it.
I just bought a tripod adapter for my iPhone and used that. It was awesome to be able to watch the video instantly, and if you have good GPS signal you could try using the app "laptimer" that does overlay info (I didn't have good enough signal) |

I personally prefer the ContourHD cameras in terms of quality, ease of use (simple on/off switch, lasers for lining up the shot), but both offer a great way to get POV footage.

I have the old GoPro I bought new for $99. It's great. Battery life is a little short though, but I've heard the HD can be hardwired into the car. They're built like tanks, so if it somehow flies off the car more than likely it will still work. If you do manage to break it, it's fairly cheap to replace.

its a great camera, and comes with a great suction cup mount. Only issue is the wind noise above 40mph, and you need to get an aftermarket case if you want in-focus underwater shooting
an iphone won't even come close, and have fun mounting it on the exterior

I use 2 contourhd and iphone mounted on the tomtom gps mount, so it doubles as GPS if you needed
I use a cruisecam headrest bar that holds the countourhd. It holds one, but you can DIY and remove their mount and put 2 hardware bolts screw into the base of the countourhd's mounts. http://www.cruisecam.com/products.html here's another company http://www.tachyoninc.com/ - they have a 3D camera now. I only use countour because it profile fits on the barrel of my paintball gun and I use the 2nd one on the mask. Go Pro are good also but it just sticks out more when playing paintball |

Mine doesn't... they just say to use the closed case for high wind and open for windless.

Need to update your firmware, the most recent makes things much easier and gives you a few new features. I believe the Mic sensitivity must be configured inside their utility but it's been a while since I used it.
