More than simply looks and fitting without rubbing, would anyone like to comment on handling characteristics of certain sizes and offsets?
Anyone with experience with handling of Morr VS7 or VS8? |

I'm curious whether Z4 3.0si wheels will fit on an M (style 135 or 203). I have a set of 135s that I currently use for my Z4 in the winter, and would prefer to keep them if I can when/if I get an M Coupe.
The front/rear sizes are: 8x18 ET 47 8.5x18 ET 50 All wheels are fitted with 225/40R-18 winter tires (same size as Z4 fronts). Based on the calculator at http://www.rimsntires.com/rt_specs.jsp, the diameter would be almost 1" shorter and the wheel would be 0.2" closer to the suspension/brakes both front and back. Is this perceptible/safe? |

19" fitment
Hi,
I called Tuner motorsport and they advised the 19x8.5 +32 (235x35x19) / 19x9.5 +28 (265x30x19) setup won't fit on the front. Any idea whether 19x8.5 +35 (235x35x19), 19x9.5 +30 offset (275x30x19) will fit? |

ET is the wheel offset.
How much the center line of the barrel measures from the face of the hub. I don't know how true it is, but I read somewhere that ET is from the German word 'Einpresstiefe' translated as 'insertion depth'.

BTW when your lady asks you about your 'Einpresstiefe',
be careful how you answer.

A lower offset will cause the wheels to stick out more and be more flush with the fender. Most people try to achieve less vertical space between wheel well and tires, and less horizontal space between fender and wheel. If you pay attention at expensive cars that look "nice," they've usually paid a great deal of attention to optimizing both these points. However, you can only go so far until your tires start rubbing on either the wheel wheel lining or fender.
It's all good up to a point, but personally I can't stand the ridiculous "hella flush" look that some people go for where they combine low offset wheels/spacers, drops, and simply stupid amounts of camber to create a car that looks like it came out of a cartoon. |

Unless you strech a 265 or 275/30/19 (this is bad for performance) they will rub. Some run run 275/37/19's, but these will rub where the rear bumper and fender meet. 285/30/19 is the right size for the wheel width and has the same diameter as stock.
To fit the 19X10.5 et 27, you will have to make some fender modification and remove part of the plastic fender liner.

I'm assuming these will fit - I've been told so and the person that told me is certain about it himself.
18x9 +38 18x10 +27 255/40 front an 285/35 rear My concerns? Up front, clearance with the strut. In the rear, should be fine but might be pushing it on the outside with the fender. Custom designed, engineered and build wheels for E46 M3 however, as I said, I've been told that they'll fit the Z4MC - this from the guy that designed and engineered them and supposedly owns a Z4M too. Opinions anyone? Partly don't know why I'm asking, they'll be here next week, should have tires pretty soon so I'll let you all know for sure. Admitedly, it's been a bit of a leap of faith... |

Rears may rub the plastic fender lining a little under heavy compression if the car is lowered more than an inch. Front may rub a little on the inside depending on your camber and ride height. With stock suspension, you should hav no issues.
