Powerchip for Z4M- Tune
Anyone here done this mod? It is 490.00 for the race version and 290.00 for the other version. Seems like a good deal.
http://www.evosport.com/product/default.aspx Cannot seem to get link to work. Search Product Catalog-->BMW-->Z4-->Engine-->Software/Chip if link does not work. They also have a kit with headers, pulley, software for under 1.5k... I cut and paste table to my post if you want to see prices. Moderator let me know if this is a problem. This is the first time I have heard of anyone making software for our cars except ESS and RPI. __________________________________________________ ________ -Coupe/Roadster 3.2 evosport - Performance Header, Ceramic Coated + Powerchip ECU - BMW e46 M3; e36/7 Z3 M-Roadster/Coupe S54; e85 Z4 M-Roadster/Coupe LIMITED TIME SPECIAL! - [EVO.EXH.B46.P01.ECU] $1,549.00 All M-Coupe/Roadster 3.2 evosport - Performance Header, Ceramic Coated + Powerchip ECU + S54 Power Pulleys - BMW e46 M3; e36/7 Z3 M-Roadster/Coupe S54; e85 Z4 M-Roadster/Coupe LIMITED TIME SPECIAL! - [EVO.EXH.B46.P02.ECU] $1,749.00 All M-Coupe/Roadster 3.2 Powerchip - ECU Upgrade (Race) - BMW S54; E46 M3, MZ3 S54, MZ4 S54 * Specify 91 or 93 Octane NOTE: Additional shipping charges will apply. - [PWC.PER.S54.002] $490.00 All M-Coupe/Roadster 3.2 Powerchip - ECU Upgrade (Street) - BMW S54; E46 M3, MZ3 S54, MZ4 S54 * Specify 91 or 93 Octane NOTE: Additional shipping charges will apply. - [PWC.PER.S54.001] $290.00 Z4 2.5 Powerchip - ECU Upgrade, 91 Octane - E85 Z4 2.5L - BMW0xxx - [PWC.PER.B85.0Z4.091] $640.00 Z4 2.5 Powerchip - ECU Upgrade, 93 Octane - E85 Z4 2.5L - BMW0145 - [PWC.PER.B85.0Z4.093] $640.00 All Vehicles Powerchip - ECU Upgrade, 91 Octane - E46 M3 w/ AFE Intake- BMW0088 - [PWC.PER.B46.M32.091.AFE] $490.00 All Vehicles Powerchip - ECU Upgrade, 91 Octane - E46 M3 w/ K&N Intake - [PWC.PER.B46.M32.091.K&N] $490.00 All Vehicles Powerchip - ECU Upgrade, 93 Octane - E46 330i 3.0L - BMW0081 - [PWC.PER.B46.M30.093] $640.00

Those are ebay headers. I would very highly suggest not purchasing those, and if you really want to, would suggest just getting them from ebay where they are priced what they are actually worth.

Im 99% sure the Powerchip tune is the same as the RPi tune. At least here in OZ its the same, the power chip website even has the same dynos RPI posted up here with the RPI intake scoop as well.

The RPI uses powerchip tune with the scoop.
http://shoprpi.com/product_info.php?...products_id=66 Not sure if the powerchip tune is adaptive to new mods like the ESS tune.

Yeh but not worth 2gs from powerchip.
I really hate not having full control over the ECU. I wish RPI or ESS would sell the cable + software so we could have out own tuners work on the car. I really dont wanna have to install an aftermarket ecu since there is no plug n play option for us.

I haven't seen anything about a reflash yet. No ECU tune order form like RPI.

Does anyone know what the 91 vs 93 octane map is all about? That seems like such a small difference. We have 91 in AZ. But I mix 100 octane to about 95 octane for track days (which have been only two since I got this car).

You would be suprised there is a noticeable difference between the two when it comes to performance. The ESS software will adapt to octane up to 100 on the fly. Im not sure if powerchips does a pre-set tune for 91 / 93 or if it is designed to adapt.
