Sorry, I wasn't clear. I will be upsizing to keep the UNDERCARRIAGE from scraping on the CONCRETE. My driveway has a steep crown! Using the stock M size rubber (225/45 and 255/40) will lift it a half inch. I don't have any rubbing (tire on fender/liner) now and assume the M guys don't have rubbing issues with stock tires either.
The question is can I run the taller M tires with 12/15 spacers to get a flush look and avoid rubbing. |

2004 Z4 Non-M - Stock suspension
Sharing ... 19x8.5 ET38 (235/35/19) - Rubs a little on big dips, should go with 225/30 instead 19x9.5 ET45 (265/30/19) - No issues Wheels are MRR GT-1's $150.00 each shipped. Great deal from this Ebay seller. http://stores.ebay.com/aspiremotoring/ |

I had the 5% taller profile tires mounted and I did a speed check today on the highway. It looks like the speedometer is between 0 and 1% under-reporting compared to GPS.
Speedometer: 70mph GPS: 31.3 - 31.6m/s = 70.0 - 70.7mph It looks like there should be enough room to move the wheels out flush without rubbing. Hopefully someone who's converted to the stock M size tires can comment. |

I do believe that the suspension and finders are different on the M as that version of the Z can accommodate wider tires and offsets compared to ours. |

I've read this thread three times and I'm still confused.
Which size offset CSL replica 19s will work without spacers and will not rub on a 2007 3.0 si coupe? Which brand is better than another Sportline? VMR? Avant garde? The threads I'm reading on this subject are 5 years old I can't find anything current. Thanks in advance. |

Hello everyone!
Like Rich two posts above I've read everything a couple of times and not found an answer... I recently bought a 2007 E86 with M sport suspension (S704A) and standard star spoke 200 17" wheels, 8Jx17 ET46 with stock 225/45/17 winter tires. This summer (that is... like... now ) I wish to buy a set of 18" BBS CH-R's; their configurator is telling me: - 8Jx18 ET40 225/40 front - 9Jx18 ET44 255/35 rear Does it sound correct thus I can trust the configurator? I don't (yet?) have enough experience to judge, especially the offsets. Thanks! PS: first post hype!! |

I've read this thread twice and it's hard to find much on square setups for a 2006 3.0i roadster
I'm looking at 225/45/17" tires, are a 17x8 et38-40 and a spacer in the back a reasonable compromise? considering beyern aviatic in et35 if it'll fit pretty reasonable price it's my kids car so cheap is good but tire rack does not have much of anything I would trust in that size

If you want the wheels to sit more flush you can even go down to ET30 if you are running 8" with 225/45. So 8" ET35 is safe. My 8,5" ET34 pokes 6mm more than that setup. I have no issues. Please don't comment the look of the following wheels They are only my storage wheels. Got them for free and are ugly as... 7,5x17 on all 4. Fronts are ET40 and rears are ET20. 205/50-17 Toyo-something tires. 8" ET35 poke 11mm more than this. Even had 9x19" ET44 as square setup once. A little rub in the front. But that would have been fixed with 225/35. Regarding the rears you can easily put on 15mm spacers for the 8" ET35.

After reading this thread a few times I finally made a decision on wheels and fitment. My previous setup was 19x8.5 ET35, 19x9.5 ET40 wrapped in 235/35 and 265/30. It sat really flush but there was rubbing on the fronts.
New Setup: Wheels: Vertini RF1.2 – Black Tint Face Fronts: 19x8.5 ET 40 Rears: 19x9.5 ET 45 http://vertiniwheels.com/Wheels_P43%20RF1.2.html Tires: Toyo Proxes 4 Plus Fronts: 225/35/19 Rears: 255/30/19 There is no rubbing whatsoever. The smaller tire made a huge difference. I also think I might be able to do a 5 or 10mm spacer to get more flush. Still on the fence about it. I need to get some better pics but this gives you an idea.

The place where I ordered everything from would not honor the guaranteed fitment policy going with a 265. Although I know they would fit with no issues I have had problems in the past with wheels not fitting correctly and had to return them. I didn't want to take the chance on these. 265 on the rear would have given a better OD fitment to the 225 but a few tire companies didn't recommend going with a 225 front and 265 rear.

Does anyone know if there a list anywhere of brands that accept the OEM center caps? I ran into this problem with a set of winter wheels I got for my Audi Q5. I bought every size center cap I could find off ebay and none of them fit. I don't want to run into this issue for the Z4 since it's a far more beautiful car and not just a family hauler |
