My Z4 roadster has every available option that was offered in 2005, but it's not an ///M. I'd been eyeing the ///M steering wheel for YEARS because I loved the wheel's thickness and the tri-color stitching, but I just couldn't justify paying about $1,000 for something that I really didn't need. Disclaimer: I'm gonna try to justify why I pulled the trigger now, but this is really intended to make me feel better. This is my summer vehicle and I have about 60,000 miles. I own the car free and clear and in my mind there's nothing that I could replace this car with since the value is likely under $20k at this point. With that being said... The silver trim pieces were nicked up pretty good by the previous owner when I bought the vehicle from him in '07 and there was even slight wear on the wheel at the 10 o'clock position (that probably could've been cleaned at the time - but I didn't). Now, fast forward 7 years later and add up all the lotion, sunscreen and hair gel that was rubbed into the wheel. The 10 o'clock and 5 o'clock positions of the wheel are 100% smooth and shiny and you can no longer see the pores in the leather like the rest of the wheel. I tried using Lexol on these areas and it did seemingly nothing. The next day I used Goo-Gone on these spots and it did next to nothing as well. Then I had the worst idea ever and decided to use Goof-Off. I should've known from previous experiences that Goof Off is a VERY harsh compound, but I thought it was at my last resort. After using Goof-Off, i now have odd dry looking areas on the wheel and while it would easily pass the eyes of the average driver, I'm willing to bet that not too many ZPOST members would be happy with the look and still somewhat sticky feel (from the gel when I wipe the sweat on my head) that's on the wheel. In addition, over the past 6 years my wedding ring has really done a number on the trim surrounding the volume control, so at minimum I'd need to replace that as well (about $200). I've been casually searching eBay for ///M steering wheels and saw one the other day for $770 shipped. I had a few cocktails in me and started to think that it was finally time to pull the trigger when the sober side of me said to "google it"... After a few minutes of searching online I saw that Tischer (getbmwparts.com) had the ///M wheel on sale for $575 +shipping. This immediately peaked my interest. I later found a coupon code that basically negates the shipping, and I was sold. The wheel is on order and I'll post pics once installed. We've had such a brutal winter that I can't wait to get this steering wheel installed and get on the road!!

My install was done by the shop who sells it. Picked it up locally.
I just bottomed out a few minutes ago so that picture is now much cleaner than it is now

This week I got a new AGM battery for the Z (previous owner had the wrong battery in it and I was experiencing some strange electronics behavior that apparently rooted back to the wrong battery).
She also got new wheel center caps and wheel badges |

Took the advice of many on this forum and replaced my OEM run flat tires with non-runflats. I went with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetric All Season. Stock sizes. MAN, WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! Excuse my enthusiasm… So happy I did this. Tremendous improvement, especially with the already rough Michigan roads having been worsened by this winter's ice, snow, and salt. Also picked up "Slime" Smart Spare kit. Supposed to be TPMS safe. Thanks to the forum for the heads up on that one.

New Drivers side cup holder. Mine quit locking today and pissed me off. I love amazon prime. Looks like a pretty simple install from youtube video.

Bought a windblox windscreen for the Roadster. Upgraded to the lexan and rubber trim too. The straps do look kinda tacky, but I figure if I'm going on a long enough ride that I put it on, I wont really care about that.
