Well, as someone who's vehemently opposed to putting a front plate on my Z4... I love it (as well as the custom-matched euro plate). But I would guess that around here (Washington State), a deformed/defaced plate will draw more attention that a missing plate, any day.
I wish you luck. Let us know how long it lasts. My impression is that in the jurisdictions where speed and traffic light cams are prevalent, law enforcement is less accepting of that missing critical identifier. |

I do like the way it works and hope your LE are more forgiving than those we have here! Let us know how the law side of it goes!

The bottom of the plate is folded in about 2/3 of an inch. so that you can still read "land of Lincoln"
the upper portion is folded about 1 1/2 inches so the part that says "illinois" is gone You can't see that part is missing unless you get down so...it really looks like it belongs there that way. I used zip ties to hold it in..easy peasy. |

Update:
Well Ive had it on for 10 months now. I have been pulled over at least once for speeding and parked in chicago streets quite a few times and haven't had any problems with it! Pic related! |

I had a front plate..took it off and filled in the holes..I feel if the car looks tastefully done and your not driving like an A**hole..they wouldn't bother you..unless you get the jealous cop..

Looks good, I am surprised (happily) that you have not had any issues!

Update: I had a ticket for no front plate with this set up, so I sent them a picture by mail from a low angle.
the ticket was dismissed by the judge and didn't even notice the plate had been bent.
