Hopefully you guys sign up for something that is nub friendly so I can join this time
I'll have to pick up some track pads since the ceramics are not for track use. Maybe cool carbon. Edit: will also have to get the diff installed early to get through the break-in.

Thill in Feb and March with NCRC have driving school--this covers flags, line, passing, rules, and an regular run session. HOD and track masters are noob friendly too.
I'm sure you could probably have one of the more advanced guys ride along (I'd be happy to, so would others) and help with line, braking technique, etc. You can also ride along with more advanced drivers too--that's a great learning tool as well. I'd also plug for a car control clinic as well, but BMWCCA doesn't show anything yet for this year in your area (Posche club and BMWCCA Sacto region teamed up last year for one plus AutoX training, great learning experience). Krissi and I went, and even with quite a few track days behind us it was still great learning and practice! I'll see what I can dig up for this year as calendars for car control and AutoX training are posted. Last edited by Finnegan; 01-01-2013 at 06:10 PM.. |

beta, I say if you can swing it, spring extra for an instructor. I've done that for my first two track days, and plan on doing it for the next few, totally worth the money in my book, especially for us noobs...

Seems to be paying off pretty well Gernard, seeing that when Lon went out with you for the last session in the rain at Laguna he gave a to your track driving. Not saying you don't have skills--you have to execute in what you're taught! I'm saying that I do think instruction in the early stages prevents bad habits, develops good habits, and sets the stage for rapid improvement that can springboard you to the next level more quickly. And, it's a plus on the safety front. I learned a lot from the Spec Miata guys who were instructors I had for my first couple of sessions out.

Anyone going to Seca next Monday 1/21? Thinking since NCRC still has room and I'm gonna be up that way this weekend I might as well try to sneak a track day in there
