Chicago area shop which can install a carbon roof on z4m coupe
Hello all, I am about to become a new owner of 2007 z4m coupe, and already am thinking of modifications.
I was wondering if anyone has a body shop in Chicago area which would be able to install a carbon roof on my coupe. I saw an interesting post on an european forum with pics how its done. ........here it is....... http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewto...+roof&start=45 I want to do the same on mine...can anyone recommend a reputable local mechanic, versed in BMW's and able to do something like that??? Or have any of you done this modification???? Any comments will be appreciated. |

I take my car to both.
Personally I'd go to IND because it's attached to a body shop. I go there for all of my body/aero stuff. For motor stuff I go to VS because they're over the top thorough. Can you repost your link? It's not working for me and I'd like to check it out. Thanks |

There's a quick summary of the install at www.mymcoupe.com; it's Palantirion's car, mod #51. You can also look at Sixspeed's here.

not that easy........
Well I thought I had all corners covered with the roof, but the company I thought sells carbon roofs is out of them, and doesn't seem to be getting any more. Does anyone know of a company in the US which manufactures carbon roof replacements for Z4 coupes?????????????????????

+1 on IND. They're on Dundee Rd right by where Northwest Hgwy (Route 14) intersects it. Awesome people, very dedicated, and uber helpful.

I just caught this thread or I would have spoken up earlier. I am very close to finishing up my tooling for full CF and Kevlar reinforced Z4 coupe roofs. Perhaps my responding to this thread will help others find that thread in the future with search. http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=557367 Last edited by Twisted Six; 04-23-2012 at 08:51 AM.. |
