i like the e92 m3's. they definetly feel more like daily drivers, and much larger inside. i personally like how they look, obvioulsy more conservative than z4m's, but still very nice machines. congrats!!!

Friend of mine just texted me about 30 min ago from Alhambra (just south of Pasadena) on his way home to Sacramento in a 1M. Lucky dog! It's going to be interesting to see what that's like. The 135 I test drove was more nimble than the M3 in some ways (more understeer though) owing to shorter wheel base and lower weight. It was pretty darn comfortable inside. The 1M interior and seats look pretty similar to the M3, and if it's as comfortable as the M3 but even more nimble (M3 suspension bits, LSD, yet shorter wheelbase and lighter) it's going to be the best of both worlds. No EDC, but an M3 w/o EDC is still a very comfortable machine. The looks are more extreme (perhaps even polarizing) than the M3 as well. Many don't care for them, but I rather like what they've done with it. Needs a bit of a drop too though! |

You have to. You can be gone tomorrow from this Earth. Enjoy the NOW, I say.

That distance is possible without a problem in the Z for most folks. But the M3 is more comfortable. Would I sell my Z4M for a M3? Hell no! (I had, past tense, an E92 M3.) Great car, the Z4M is more my cup o' tea. But no denying the comfort of the M3, especially with EDC.

I just had my friend's 1M for a week. What a car. I was looking to buy one but it became complicated with mark-ups and limited supply. In the end I am happy to have purchased the Z4M to compliment my M5; I truly believe it to be a classic. That said, the 1M makes me happy, for the first time in a while, about BMWs future. After so many cars with numb steering and electronic everything (yes, I have driven most of them), this car is a perfect antidote. I love the screaming character of the S54 but for a daily driver I really loved the N54s torque. Not surprising since I am used to the S62 in my E39 M5.

+1 driving the M Coupe was so much different that the M5. I had to mentally tell myself which car I was I before heading out because the had such different personalities.

Good thing is the Z4Ms are in the low to mid $20000s anyway so I can always buy another one. How tall are you?

My initial drive was a one-stop from Salt Lake City to Vancouver, BC. I'm 6'4" and had zero aches. I'm sure when I get older it won't be ideal, but it's all about finding that perfect seating position. A nice set of track pants helps too.

I removed the Subwoofer speaker grill, gained some leg room and no plastic sounds.

I will most likely get an e92 M3 down the line and hope to keep the Z4MC around.
I am surprised you say the e92 M3 is not that much faster than a Z4M. My 20 minute drive in the M3 left me feeling like my MC was a slug for almost a week. That S62 is an amazing motor. And 1/4 mile times are more than 0.5s quicker in the e92 which is an eternity. |

I've done it before by just prying it out, but there are tabs there that are very prone to cracking off, so I'll use a plastic trim removal kit http://www.harborfreight.com/5-piece...set-67021.html

So I actually picked up my M roadster in Chicago and drove it back to Boston in a day--stopping only for food and bathroom breaks--and I loved every minute of the 16-hour drive. I guess this is one of the few times it helps to be 5'6".

The Z4MR are. The Coupe are high $20s to low $30s... You are right on the coupe.

Yup, you know what I am talking about. I didn't want that sound and thus never drove the car touching and being a little tall does not help. lol I am just thinking of excuses to make me like my M3 more. LOL
