Z4M Coupe #2
Hi all,
I'm a long term BMW driver (starting with my 1999 528 in the same year). For the past 7 years, my DD has been my E39 M5 - the best car I have ever purchased. In 2007 I leased a Z4M coupe to complement the M5. I loved the car and planned to purchase it off lease...before the dealer bent the driver's side strut tower (long story). I finally found a suitable replacement being sold by a Zpost board member. It's a MY 2007 Space Grey/Black coupe, one owner, 9K miles on the odometer. My wife and I went to California last weekend to pick it up and drive back to Tucson. The car is currently getting a very minor "refurbish". It did not need much and looked stunning when we picked it up. I'm having the bottom of the front spoiler "fangs" repainted (after which I will place RPI skid plates), some wheel curb rash addressed and having it professionally detailed (clay, minor paint correction, 3 coats of Zaino Z2 - after which I will maintain it). Once the paint cures on the fangs, a 3M clear bra will be installed. It basically looks new now, so I can't wait to see it back from the shop! I'll post some pictures then; in the meantime, here are some home-coming pictures and a few of my daily driver. It's good to be back! Last edited by KevinM; 07-31-2011 at 10:12 PM.. |

Thanks. I do love both shades of gray - just dark enough to be interesting to me, but light enough not to show swirl marks. |

fantastic combo of cars. Only thing I'd have different in my dream garage is an e39 m5 wagon to compliment my Mroadster

Thanks! The E39 M5 is...well, you just have to drive it. No longer the king of the hill in terms of power, but so sweet...

I will either buy another E39 M5 or a E92 M3. We had a 2000 and that car did everything well. A practical rocket. But for now during my 1/4 life crisis the M Coupe' shall suffice.
Well done my good man!

I have picture like that Granted my wife had taken hold of the M5 keys and isn't letting go. She seems to like it more than her E36 M3.

Wow, great pair you have there!
Would love to park an e39M next to my M coupe one day

That is one mod thread you've got - fantastic job. I see you are not far away - perhaps I will get to see your coupe one day! The car will be back from its "refresh" tomorrow. The front license plate holder was unfortunately put on in such a way that I ended up having the whole bumper repainted rather than just the fangs (for non AZ residents, we thankfully don't require a front plate). The curb rash on the rear wheel has been addressed. A full detail including minor paint correction and multiple coats of Zaino has been performed. RPI skid plates are finally on their way (they were on back order for a bit)! CDV delete has also been performed. I haven't seen the car for a week! I will post some pictures this weekend.

We should met up. Once my car is put back together we could go for a drive. I would also like to pick you brain a bit on the e39 M5 too!

Thanks, sounds like a plan. Let me know if I can answer any questions about the E39 M5.

Congrats!
I'm headed your way Tucson on 8/23 in my Imola Red M Coupe to pick up a new purchase: a pristine 1984 528e. Honk if you see us on the road. |
