Who's a Dual Personality Driver?
Just drove 350+ miles from Bay Area back to Thousand Oaks with the wife. Did much of the drive in "grand touring" mode, i.e., sit back, relax and enjoy the ride with top down and iPod on shuffle.
Then it hit me - when the wife's in the passenger seat I drive like a saint (relatively). When she's not in the car I tend to be a more "spirited" driver. I'm not alone on this, right?

ovrkll keeps me in check usually . I enjoy spirited driving most times with occasional cruise-type driving, since I only drive my Z for fun - I have to watch myself. Don't usually have passengers. The ones I have had though, don't seem to want to ride with me again

Yup - a requirement for me as well. Driving alone I plot out the most twisty roads I can find on a map and only drive slow if I am stuck behind someone.
My wife easily gets carsick so I have to find the least curvy road and drive in a far more sedate fashion. She is very well aware of my propensity to search for twisties and doesn't mind that I do when she isn't in the car.

BTW, got to love the Z4's deep speedo and tach surrounds - effective at nuetralizing the passenger lean-left-to-check-the numbers manuever

As for me...I'm pretty calm when I'm driving by my lonesome...unless someone makes me angry...or I'm in a hurry...otherwise I'm just cruising... When my wife is in the car the fun level increases...cuz she enjoys it...even if she does feel a little sick at times...she even tries to encourage me to be dangerous!!! Usually to no avail...

Yeah... my wife hates the suspension on the Zed. Gives her headaches. So I have to find smooth roads to keep her sane. I'm more spirited when I'm driving alone, but not too crazy.

It's not THAT bumpy...my wife gets woozy during hard acceleration and turns...the seats are nice and comfy enough to make up for any bumps in the road

Does that mean you don't like having anyone in there, or you just hate all people and thus any person who is sitting in your passenger seat is also hated?
BTW, ward, if you lose a hundred pounds or so, you'll notice that there's a passenger seat in your Zed. |

I drive the same whether or not there is someone with with me. There is one exception! MY MOM - I drive below the posted limit and there are no sudden moves.

I push the car hard when I am driving where it is safe to do so....generally back roads, with or without a passenger. Otherwise, it is driven like I am out for a Sunday drive. I found that when doing the later, I need to slowly push the revs up over 4K before I shift and I get nice smooth shifts and nice long exhaust notes without attracting the attention of F-n-I's fraternal order.

I'm pretty much a cruiser until I hit a corner. I don't care about straight line speed, but I love to take a corner as fast as possible.
