New half-cage, harnesses, and race seats
So a very talented friend of mine/cage builder/racer made this amazing creation for my lapping car.

Wow, very helpful as I'm now searching for a cage builder who can do a factory looking half cage as well. I take it if you placed the cross bars in front of the center pocket that wouldn't have left you enough leg room? If so mind me asking how tall you are?

Also I can still use the center pocket. The DVD has moved to the trunk area behind the wall. We haven't made an opening for it yet. But that is needed to update maps only. And since I won't really need it as a daily driver... The CD changer is gone. |

Wow! Thanks for the Nice comments. This was a really interesting built. I did not make a jig as it would not be a simple install. To make as much space available and have a super tight hoop I cut into the rear chassis brace on the sides, not just the plastics and welded it in. Anyway every build is so different i always build one of.
Can't wait to see it on the track. https://www.facebook.com/BuiltBySeb?ref=hl |

My question is: is it possible to create a bulge that goes over the center console, instead of through it?
I'll try and describe what I mean. The pipes are about as close to the bulkhead as possible behind each of the seats, would you be able to build a "C" shape to attach the left and right sides to each other but have it come over the center console. My first impression is that this could be a weak point in structure in the event of a squeeze crash, but if it was strong enough, it might be able to counteract that force. But my impression is the rollover event is more what a cage is for. I'm really just thinking aloud, and no nothing about building cages so figured I'd put my thoughts out there to see what others think. Really, I know bolt in cages are frowned upon, but I'd love to buy one that I can return the car to stock if I so felt the urge. It almost looks like if the bulge idea could work, then you could fab up a front section, and the two rear legs could bolt into the floor and into the half cage
