n00b wheels and stance question (first mod ever)
THANK YOU in advance. Ive spent countless hours on this forum, and trying to search around. all this new knowledge and #'s are all scattered in my head and im trying to make sense of it all.
I have a completely stock 2007 silver roadster 3.0si on style 108's. I am eyeing some 19" 8.5 front, 9.5 back, bbs lm-r replicas cause its my fav one in my $ range. Im not sure about the tires exactly, but it seems 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 should get the job done. My concern is that my car will look funny until I lower the car. Any thoughts on IF I can COST EFFECTIVELY (like <$500 range) lower my car to the optimal height for 19" rims? PLEASE INCLUDE LINKS when possible. I want a nice stance that rides as COMFORTABLE as possible with no rubbing. I drive aggressive, but i dont track it or anything like it. Its my daily driver. All thoughts welcome on wheels/tires/springs etc!

Hi rmonte4,
I am looking at doing the same thing with my 04 3.0 using the same sizes as you mentioned. As far as I understand the tires yoI am thinking of using are slightly taller(approx 2-3% depending on the brand you choose) than the stock tires and so I believe it will not look funny without lowering the car. See attached PDF for dimensions of original and new tire sizes as it pertains to my car. 1010 tires has a tire calculator that works really well. Dave Quote:

Nice tire calculator link, best calculator ive seen yet.
Here are my #'s current tires at 18" 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear Now my rims I would like to purchase is BBS LM-R 19" 8.5 front, 9.5 rear. TIRE SET UP 1: (comfy setup) 235/35/19 front 275/30/19 rear stats: Variance from this and my OEM wheels and tires is 1.1% - 1.6% increase on front/rear. And about .45 inches increase in wheel diameter. TIRE SET UP 2: (low profile setup) 225/35/19 front 265/30/19 rear stats: Variance of <1% for front and rear. And a .11 inch and .23inch increase in diameter respectively compared to my OEM wheels. mind you, this is all on stock suspension. If i can avoid lowering my car then Id rather save $, but only if my ride looks good. ANY ONE OUT THERE OFFER ADVICE ON WHICH TIRE SET UP IS IDEAL? ANYONE HAVE THIS SETUP ON AND WOULD LIKE TO ADD COMMENT about ride quality and lowering? THANKS in advance.
