AFE Cold Air Intake Oiled vs Dry Filter Question

My new to me 2006 3.0si came with an AFE Stage 2 cold air intake. I know the performance gains with this are negligible, but my question is regarding the filter itself. I have never been a fan of oiled filter because of the chance of over oiling them and fouling MAF sensors.

I could run a 2-layer dry cone filter that supposedly filters less than a comparable 5-layer oiled filter, but is that really a big concern?

Can I wash the current oiled filter and just run it dry?

Or do I just buy a 2-layer dry filter, which AFE sells. This is also washable and reusable, just doesn't filter as small a micron as the oiled filter.

I am also not a fan of oil style filters. AFE offers a dry but washable style filter that is a direct fit. That is the route I went. part number is: 21-60505.
