Those with Forgestar Wheels .. question
I am in the process of ordering some Gloss Black Forgestar wheels for my Z4.
When placing the order we discuss the lugs and it looks they they may only come in Silver. For those that have black wheels, how did you get black lugs - did you paint (if so, please tell me what type, brand, etc.. ) that you used. If you were able to source black lugs, please tell me from where. For the Wheels, they need to be coneshaped. - If the stock lugs are good to go already, let me know that as well. If you are wondering - I'm getting R 18x9.5 and F 18.8.5 wheels. Once I get the wheels and know the offsets I'll post pics and numbers. BTW.. the folks at **********s were great to work with on this order!

^^ Hi Matt - Thanks - No, they won't be on in time. Seems there is about a 6 week lag time from order till ship. so, they won't be on till sometime in April.

are those offsets correct? 8.5" et36 and 9.5" et46 is very flush for a non-///m. if they are correct, i'm thinking you better have a pretty serious suspension setup to compensate. maybe i missed something?

I do not know. that is just what is on the box. there was / is no paperwork. I am hoping that Forgestar would not send me wheels that just won't work. I have stock sport suspension - not lowered and I doubt it ever will be.

**********s' website for ordering forgestars says that they'll contact the buying party with the correct offsets for your car before the order is made. what did they tell you was correct for the car?
do the wheels themselves have et markings anywhere on them? in the barrel...? back side of one of the spokes...? hopefully the et specs on the box are a belated april fools joke. 9.5" et26 will be way the hell outside the fender line. as an example... http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=506796 StigJ's rear wheels are 10.0" et40 which are 29mm more aggressive (mildly looney) than your stock 108's, vs. a 9.5" et26 @ 37mm more agressive (markedly insane) than your 108's. i'm not even sure if you'd be able to turn your car with 8.5" et26 in front. holy buckets, man. check your wheels, reciepts, and blood pressure... then tell me it was all a big misunderstanding on my part. pleeeeeeaaaaaase don't be et26.....!

F: 19X9 ET20 R: 19X10 ET20 I assure you that my fronts do not have an offset of 20. Here is a pic...its pretty flush and absolutely no rubbing. And yes, its getting coilovers next week so please don't make fun of my gap! Last edited by prodigal_m; 04-05-2011 at 09:11 PM.. |

it's good that prodigal_m has misleading boxes as well. i found this link...
http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=323428 MrPedals apparently didn't get much help on the offset listings for his car either. at this point, we can assume forgestar is unwilling to share information on their wheels. we'll see on saturday! can't wait for the pics!

Thanks everyone! Yeah.. I'm pretty stoked about getting the wheels. Going to be a long wait till Saturday!
Progidal_m - thanks for the pics. Car looks GREAT! As for the lugs. I have the new ones with the wheels. I'll talk with the guys putting the wheels on - I'll find out the details then on the lugs. If the BMW's ones are fine - I'll use them - if not, I'll put on the new ones. Either way, I'll do whatever is safest and correct for mounting them. Teaser pic.. (really bad cell phone one after I opened one box...)

Wait, if you read MB's response above, why would you still want to put the BMW lugs on?

mostly because I am stubborn and have to see / prove everything myself. I'll probably (most likely) be using the new lugs. it's really why I purchased them anyway...

Your Forgestars require lugs pictured in the left. Stock BMW lugs are those on the right. You can see how the stock lugs would fit but as you tighten it more, you will scratch/damage your wheels. |
