Z4M Style 224 wheels weighed
Don't know if anyone's ever weighed these, but with center caps, TPMS, and balancing weights (no tires) they turned out to be right around (within a couple 1/10ths) 27.5 lbs front and 30 lbs rear.
Felgen-Katalog lists them as 11.20 kg (24.69 lbs) front and 11.70 kg (25.79 lbs) rear. Could be that my bathroom scale isn't 100% accurate, but I weighed two 30 lb dumbbells and they came in within 0.5 lbs of 30 lbs (29.8 and 30.5). Could be varying manufacturing tolerances in the weights themselves too. Last edited by dekaliber; 05-30-2010 at 08:31 AM.. |

Also, another FYI, according to this thread, the 19" E46 ZCP wheels weigh ~23 lbs front and ~24 lbs rear.
http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showp...&postcount=117 http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showp...&postcount=118 Again, contrary to Felgen-Katalog's 12.63 kg (27.84 lbs) front and 13.79 kg (30.40 lbs) rear. Verdict: They look awesome, and weigh less. |

I don't recall seeing an accurate measure before, but others similar to your method.
IIRC yours are a tad higher but in the ball park. This is the main reason that I'll change them out eventually for some lighter 18s.

Damn that's even heavier than I thought. I am loving my new pick of 19" RGRs so far. Weight is approx 20 lbs front and 22 lbs rear.

Did you weigh them, or did you find a spec on them somewhere?

Oh, that is awesome - means I'll be losing ~ 10# per wheel in the rear and about 9# per wheel up front with my RAC RG63s....and that's while gaining 1-inch width front and rear!
I will have to gain about 3# at each corner for the bigger tires but, still means a net loss of 26# unsprung weight - not too shabby with bomb proof wheels to boot. |

From TireRack under product description. I haven't actually weighed them personally.

NP, If I recall correctly, it's the lightest 19" BBS wheel. Below is one pic so far... I won't derail this thread, but when I get a chance to do a little photoshoot I'll create a new thread with those snaps.
This picture does a decent job at showing the difference of the BBS hyperblack in shade/dark vs. direct sunlight. In sunlight they almost look like a normal brighter, silver wheel. In the dark lighting they look much darker.
