Recommended valve stems for track days
I've noticed these "cheap chinese/amazon" metal valve stems tend to leak after hot laps. They don't leak outright until I move them slightly side to side. I can see the rubber seal gets weak and some air escapes. Once the rim cools down, they are solid.
Can anyone recommend non-TPMS valve stems for my APEX wheels? Not a fan or standard rubber unless you can convince me... And, preferably something I can source easily

I always use the shorty OEM ones (hate when they protrude) for $5. Never had issue with them over years of tracking. Works fine for with and without tpms. As you said I don’t use metal ones because they tend to be a little finicky.

I’d agree if it was like the newer cars where you get a readout of psi and temp by tire. But having just a binary light on/off without even knowing which sensor is the issue isn’t very informative imo.

Z4M also uses the rotational speed to calculate low pressure tires, you can code this behavior in and still have the feature while not having actual TPS in the tires

I thought that was only for 06 models? Can you share the coding settings if applicable for 07-08?

Mine is an 07. Canada spec and I confirm both options are in NCSExpert. Need to dig it out the saved files or download, but the car is on the stacker. Can look at it on the weekend
