Fixing the flaking paint from your wheel

I am not that brave when it comes to removing parts that require a battery disconnect. After the seat adventure I decided to take on the flaking paint on the steering wheel. I know the drop cloths may seem excessive, just bare with me

Here are the before, during and after shots of the wheel. I taped it all off, drop clothed the remainder of the area, and used short bursts of rustoleum primer/paint. Sand the area first [with something stronger than 220], then prep with alcohol [only the plastic bits], then tape, then paint. Below are the before, during and after shots. I wish I could get better photos of how really nice it came out. The iphone will have to do. I also had some clear coat laying around, I finished it with a coat of that.
