There isn't much difference to any other car, I just finished my fronts and about to do the rear
1)grease those slider pins but not so much, it can get gummed up too if you use too much
2) you will need metric allen keys and a 6" C Clamp for sure at bare minimum
3) Rotor screws can get stuck and they are a complete pain. I had one round on me and end up drilling the head off. Soak em with liquid wrench

Other than that, there is not much else left.
Personally I use Stoptech Sport, a good mix of performance use. It's not a track pad and it can handle a little heat as well but it also does not squeal or have cold bite issues when its cold out.
Rotors, use Zimmermann or use the site sponsor getBMWparts for OEM
